Johnny loses his mind on livestream

I watched the match like most. JA didn't seem to hot and bothered during the match other than the racking bullshit.

My question...Who on planet earth thought JA could beat that kid in a long race even ? There was never a world where JA could win.

Also...Just my opinion, I thought Gabe looked like a carbon copy spitting image of Roberto Gomez. I'm not suggesting Gabe plays that speed, but his physical game was a replica of Gomez.

i had never heard of gabe. checking fargo he's 697. johnny is 754. discrepancies on both those numbers presumably? upwards trajectory and downward descent..

I wasn't a "normal" kid in the sense of learning to play and associating with other "kids" of my own age.

From an early age, I worked in a real, old-school pool hall that I wasn't even legally allowed to be in because of my age.

I played and gambled with adults from every walk of life in a place filled with drunks, thieves, drug addicts and drug sellers, ex-cons, etc. I traveled and played pool by myself and gambled in towns and places for miles around.

I acted like an "adult" before I aged into an "adult".

I considered myself an "adult" before I turned 16.

Whenever there was a "misunderstanding" of any type I was treated as an adult and that is what I expected to happen.

I didn't expect them to treat me as a "kid" when it came to pool playing and gambling.
Much respect whoever you are.

How many top players were fighters? Danny Deliberto was! He could provide insights.

I never paid much attention to Johnny but even as a youngster I can't remember him having more than a jaybird mouth and a sparrow ass. If I had to make a list of pool players that could fight, johnny wouldn't make the list.

The one time we played, I don't remember Johnny saying a word between introductions and final payoff. Certainly no friendly back and forth. I have to believe Gabe is doing some fence mending now. You don't keep poking at somebody who isn't responding without it being sharking, intentional sharking in my opinion.

As for all of the "kid" talk, I would rather fight a sixty year old man than a nineteen year old. The nineteen year old is much closer to his peak.

@HawaiianEye, I started gambling nightly on my fifteenth birthday. Everything else about our stories other than location could be almost word for word! I was a pretty hardened player and gambler by sixteen. I had thousands of match-ups and quite a few fights by nineteen. I had even smoothed out my act by nineteen, rarely having gambling related issues after the first couple years.

I made it to Hawaii for a few weeks when I was nineteen or twenty, no gambling though. Visiting a brother stationed there.

Some employ the friendly banter as a weapon er uh distraction way of control of the rhythm.
If I have been cordial, I raise up off the shot and explain. When I am at the table, it's My Show. You need to be quiet.
"When it's your turn you can wail and cry all you want." Is my verbatim statement to Lake City Red in a round of my first 2 day tournament victory......Perhaps Only 🤷‍♂️
Raise my adrenaline level going into combat. Well combat "on the fields of friendly strife. "
So if they act or play dumb, I will man the escalator or is it elevator. 🤷‍♂️ Starting with Volume. Up we go into the wild blue yonder.

The Real McCoys.is a favorite 50s TV show. When we got 2 channels. Up hill both ways.
They even included a Hispanic employee. Cool
Well back in the day Rick Hodge was king of the small tournaments surrounding Seattle Tacoma. Cole Dickson was the white boy from Oakland, after hours conversation once led to the posturing of a mma weigh in. Cole had his beer bottle concealed behind his leg. Rick was Golden gloves boxer. 🤔 glad I didn't have to see. As they decided to uh co exist.

It amazes me at times how similar many of the backgrounds are on players from that era. The attraction towards certain personality types being a standard.
Y'all know of what I speak. 😉
