So picked this up from a friend that acquired it from a Japanese collector who was into JW and TAD and at the time was living in Hawaii. It came with a batch of cues and he never got to ask about it so it just sat around with no shafts with all the other cues he bought until he got around to piecing out the collection. I bought it on the cheap with a beautiful JW BEM Merry Widow.

Cue itself is Coco or some other type of Rosewood, into Purple Heart forearm. Notched diamonds in the points and sleeve with dots and a "thick" Hoppe style cap to finish her off.

I showed these pics to some collector friends I know, who are not on this site, and the general consensus was "possibly" an early Randy Mobley...

So with out further ado, the pics.

Damn cool cue.

I don't know who made it. Thin metal rings cheapen the look IMHO. Strange bumper screw for a custom as well.


Awesome veneers and the inlays are oh so cleanly done.
 
if it were a mobley i would think his logo would be on it somewhere

For record, me either!

But there are at different occasions makers that don't mark their cues.

I know two different makers that don't mark their personal players.

Not saying that's what up with this cue mind you, but there are times they don't do it.

"Possibly" Early Carmeli cue...
Veneer work and inlays look really good,
also excellent wood selected for this build...
