The man in the photo is Pete Sinkler. I just saw his son Pete Jr 2 days ago. I believe there was an original batch made 30 some years ago, and then a re-print 10 or so years ago. I'm not 100%, maybe 50% on this info.
That would be me……I tracked Lou down 13 years ago and he did not have any more posters which saddened me since it is the classiest pool poster I’ve ever seen. I brought my copy to an Art Supply store where I had it matted and framed for display. It cost a few bucks but it turned out spectacular, IMO.
About 4 months after Lou told me that he didn’t have any more posters, he called me up. I was the only person to ever track him down about this poster so he remembered who I was. He was rummaging through his garage and found the original ten (10) artist proof copies of the poster that is produced prior to the poster getting printed. The posters were stored in a mislabeled container. Lou said he was keeping posters #1 & #2 for himself but he would let me have proof #3 of the 10. I don’t know how valuable this poster is but that was never a consideration for me. It was always about having a piece of pool nostalgia and as I earlier acknowledged, it’s my favorite all time pool poster
My poster is from the original printing and isn’t a reproduction or some photocopy. It is from the photographer, Lou Cipollini and having it professionally framed was a little pricey but I just couldn’t bring myself to hang a unique poster in some cheap aluminum frame with clear plastic, not even glass. This poster deserves to be hung so gotta do it right. All the cues in the photo are Szamboti pool cues. As far as I’m concerned, this poster is priceless for me. I hope you like viewing it.

Thanks for the info..this is not a artist proof but it is one of the original batch I believe.
There was only one original print run on this poster per Lou Cipollini who retained the copyright.
A second printing or any subsequent reprints, never happened per Lou. I explored ever possibility
after tracking Lou down and he confirmed there was a single run and he didn’t have any copies
when we initially spoke. As I explained, months later Lou calls me saying he found the original ten
(10) artist proof copies he didn’t even realize he still had. I told all my friends if they wanted one to
act quickly because the first 3 posters are Lou’s and mine so there were only 7 other posters left.
Well, it looks just like mine so I don’t see any difference other than the original photographer
numbering and signing my poster. Put yours next to mine and it’s hard to even distinguish
except for the framing I did to my poster. And you didn’t have to go on a manhunt to find it.
Cudos…….it is just a terrific poster.
