It's 2026, your SOCIALK MEDIA presence and followers WILL PAY you MONEY, directly and indirectly. If you're 700+ Fargo and is not making $5,000 per month on the side related to pool, but without involving PLAYING pool, you must have a fulltime job. $4000 if you are in EU, $3000 rest of the world...

I don't totally disagree with you. Almost every world beater or even the next level down was a junior national/ Junior world champion.
I believe Neil's says to give it four or five years to try to go pro. One year is just not enough. I wouldn't say the guy has no shot but it's going to be a much longer road to even start cashing in anything than he thought.
Maybe he is serious, maybe it's just social media crap.
It would be cool to see someone actually get close.

IMO this fellow is making two mistakes: 1) quitting his job; and 2) trying to be a pro with his ability. I hope he can make a lot of dough on YouTube. If he is in Texas, I suggest he look up Keith Thompson and take a swim in his new pool.
The dude is probably already a millionaire is my guess. Now he's doing his passion for fun. Good for him.
Don't know his angle and time frame but I think, thinking you can brute force it is reasonable. The world is full of people who know they got it and in fact do. You'd have to attain a level of performance that will ward off the spoilers first. These guys might be the biggest annoyance/hindrance/... until you gain their respect.
i watched 20-30 minutes of the match. he has no chance in this endeavor.

I think he has to go up about 30 points per year, depending on how long he has budgeted for this. That will get harder every year. Currently 662 (r=454)
Edit: he has already gone up 15 points since the start of this thread, so he is ahead of that rate.
