It’s funny, I’m British and that’s a very British thing to always try and bring our winners down But usually the Americans are really good at getting behind their heros/athletes. I don’t know why Shane gets such a hard time , he should be getting even more support since he has kept his level for years but there now just happen to be a load more top players around to compete with. He can’t win everything but he is still top 4 favourite to win every event he is in, imo!

Reminds me of his 2022 World 9-Ball path that included a very in-stroke Mika Immonen, Big Ko, Chang, Kazakis, and Albin Ouschan (who was still dominant). This one may actually have been tougher. Also sad to think that two of his opponents from 2022 are no longer with us.

they played WPM final a long time ago, kazakis won, and they played world 10-ball (?) semifinal last year, kazakis won on spot shot shootout. can't remember other finals between the two but i have a foggy memory. third time's the charm, svb wins
 
Ive seen Kazakis play that well before AFTER the break. His break today was the best I’ve seen, and it was one of the better breaking performances I’ve seen in the past few years.

He is the nightmare foe for players like Atencio. Kazakis slows down the game and he is tactically shrewd. He plays safes when others don’t and rarely gambles. Like a fast break basketball team vs a walk-it-up team.

Kaci with two killer misses on the 8 ball to lose a pair of games. No one should win a match missing those shots and, well, he didn’t.

I will say that I've seen Dennis play one pocket on a 4 1/8" Diamond (not the new black labels, which have a more forgiving facing angle) with super worn cloth, and he had absolutely no issue. I also saw a 750 beat the nine ball ghost pretty easily on that same table.
 
I gotta admit, I was wrong about Kazakis.

I be forgetting that he has the 23rd highest Fargorate in the world.

I guess I'm just used to seeing him in WPA events only and I don't recall him running so deep in a WNT Major before.

He puts me to sleep, but man does he play good pool.
 
Alex put a perfect set on Shane the last time they met in a final IIRC.
My buddy played Alex in a tourney in Europe while he was there for work.
He said he did not miss a single ball and Alex beat him something like 10-5.
He can play as well as anyone.
As others have mentioned, he's a great guy too. A couple of my friends in AZ met and spoke with him when he was in Tucson a few years back.
They both told me he was kind and happy to talk to amateur players.
That said, I will still be pulling for Shane. However, if he has to be runner-up to someone, I'm glad it will be Alex.
 
I have a question for the subscribers. If I sign up can I go back and watch matches from this tournament and ones before it?
