just saying from a legal stand point as you were calling him a thief. not saying he isnt but in your case he didnt steal anything as of yet.

it may be gone by now anyway.

In order not to disappoint myself I do not borrow or lend cues. I have given a few away. Off topic I do not offer cues to be sampled as they come back banged up or dinged. I lent a lawnmower to a neighbor...after while he thought it was his. Done.
 
I learned the hard way that one should never lend anything to anyone in the pool room, to include cues, if they are okay with never getting paid back and/or, in this case, returned.

There are a few trustworthy souls, fortunately, but they are too far and few in between in the pool world, sad to say. Today, I am owed close to $300 from various sources over the years, never got paid back, and I consider myself lucky. I quit lending money to anyone in the pool room, especially those who enjoy games of stake.

I'm sorry this happened to you.

This is the guy you lent your cue to "for a few days"? No offense, but you paint this guy as morally bankrupt then you are surprised he victimized you? If I knew all this about this guy, no shot he'd be leaving my sight with anything of mine of value, especially sentimental value. It's been over a year and a half. It's time to come to grips with the fact you'll never see that cue again. Shame on you for letting him "borrow" it.

'a fellow sportsman'. now that's funny. this ain't cricket bud. that dude is just another scuffler pool player. 10 posts in and you're looking for sympathy? why else post this?? there are 'pool people' people i've known over 30yrs that i wouldn't lend a dime to. Confusing a poolhall acquaintance with a real friend usually leads to this.

Most trustworthy souls will will not ask/borrow. I was asked one time if I’d lend a cue
to someone’s friend that I know so they could play together. I politely declined.
