I bought my table from Billiard factory in Houston, they will set it up as soon as my carpet is installed in a couple weeks!

Nope, I’m right there with you. The other thing I HATE, is the blasting stupidly loud music in some pool room / bars.. Studies have shown folks consume more alcohol when the music is blasting.
That’s all they care about is selling booze…
Stopped going to several places in NC. Blasting music, blasting led lights GTFO!

One place was so loud my insides were shaking. Totally impossible to speak to a person right next to you.Any place with blasting music I’m out of there… including weddings
The next week I had downloaded an OSHA decibel app to get an idea just how loud it was. Registered 128 decibels. Dangerous exposure level … Informed the team captain I was not going in there ever again.
The place got busted 6 months later for dealing drugs and allowing children (10 year old) to play a video poker machine while her Mom sat at the bar drinking. When her daughter lost the money Mom just gave her some more money.. She should have been arrested for abuse and lost custody, at least until she got treatment..
A year later in court they plead no contest were fined $100,000 and lost the gambling machines but managed to keep their liquor
license and stay open..
Ain’t been back and no plans to do so..

I've said before that my ideal pool hall would have good blues music playing in the background, but soft enough you can talk over it and good bbq cooking in the kitchen and classic old 9 foot tables with green cloth and Masters chalk
I am old school all the way....which should include smoking, but I hate that stench and it just killed my wife of 49 years.

We just celebrated 47 years together in the 25th.
She has Lewy Bidy Dementia so our dream of making it to fifty is a coin toss, she might not even know who I am in three years..

Yep.. because selling booze as you put it has a high profit margin and they are a business who needs to make money. So selling “booze” is important. Here in pa a liquor license to sell “booze” will cost you over 400k so you better bet that if I own a bar or pool hall that sells it I’m going to be pushing “booze”
I honestly was never bothered my smoking until places started going non smoking. Now when the rare occurrence that I play in a league or tournament at a private club that has smoking I want to set my clothes on fire when I get home lol I remember opening my cue case the next day after some of the really bad bars and the stench being horrible.

i havent gone in a place in a few decades that has smoking. and few states allow it anymore and thats good.
if its okay to smoke why is it not okay to cough near someone's face. ill never know
and music i dont want to hear someone else's choice of music when i am in any place. that's me.
i can enjoy silence or having a conversation without competition when playing pool.
