U.S. OPEN 2026, Frisco, Texas, August 25-30

That was on tense Next Gen final. Got the full Gavin Mathew experience. He will learn from this. The other kid, Axe, is a very good player too. Very good. He hit some big shots. From 2-2 on, they alternated racks until 9-8.

FSR has been up and down the past few years, always falling short. Seemed like he was on the downside of his career, at least to me.

Capito has been more consistent, but I really thought his mental game was not up to par with his table skills. He could get thrown off too easily. He said he’s been working on his mental game. Meantime, he’s really become an elite player on the table.

He is not as fluid as FSR, though, and needs more time as a player to go through his routine.

If recent vintage FSR shows up — the FSR of 2022-23 - I think he will pull it off. But if he’s not at the very top of his game, Robbie will take him down.

It’ll be interesting to see. Pool doesn’t need the 3-point rule but it’ll be interesting to see how many of their breaks (if any) would even be 3-point compliant. I bet it’s low.
