Updated Mosconi Cup standings after the US Open. Some interesting mixups on the Europe side, with Shaw and Neuhausen outside the top 5 could that potentially open the door for a US upset?

Razor thin margins on the US side, Fedor just needs to win a couple matches at the Philippines open to move into 3rd and bump Thorsten completely off the team?

The money results tell a sad tale for the US team. Shane has 2x the closest US player but would barely qualify for the Europe squad.

He's been living in the USA for a good 20 years, and obtained his USA Citizenship a few years ago. The exact same thing happened with Allison Fischer. They both represent USA now in international competition.

In another few years Team USA might be all Europeans;)

Kinda says it all that all 6 Euros are qualified and have played all 5 majors. The only "American" that has played every event is Thorsten - the guy that played under a German flag for 30 years
 
So would Pecelj potentially be the only rookie playing the Mosconi cup for the 1st time then (don't think he's played before)? Presuming Lukas Verner doesn't improve his ranking or gets a wild card.
 
I can understand the feelings of Thorsten playing under the German flag for past years, but I think he switched when he got his official US Citizenship. Being in the US for over 20 years, paying taxes, following the official process for getting a green card and then official citizenship, while playing the required WNT tournaments, makes him eligible in my opinion to represent the US. Fedor represented Europe in the Mosconi as well, I think is working on a green card, and has not qualified with the correct amount of WNT tournaments (recently skipping majors to be at the APA) or the automatic winnings amount, but obviously a stronger player, makes him less qualified to be on the Mosconi.

Look at the number of majors played. He skipped both the Euro open and the UK open. He could've won either or both and was pretty assured to finish high. The red next to most of the Americans tells THAT tale...
