Help identify joint pin?

I had to order a cheap Thread Pitch Gauge, to measure the threads, and I learned today that this is a 10 Thread (per inch) joint pin. So, I assume it is 3/8x10.

I assumed that it would probably be 3/8x11, lol, because I have never seen a Brass plated 3/8x10 joint pin..

Anyways, it still does not look like a 3/8x10, so maybe a Modified 3/8x10?

All I know is that it is 10 Thread turns per inch though, as I previously thought, based on a measurement.

Anyways, I really need a shaft for the cue, so just wanted to be sure.

So why do you not show it with some kind of measuring tool. Are we suppose to guess where the one inch mark is?

The Thread Pitch Gauge is a measuring tool, that measures the amount of thread turns per inch. Do you not see it in my picture? The tool tells me that it is a 10. I tried the 11, but it would not fit at all. Fits perfectly for the 10 though. Even before I got this tool though, I was pretty sure that it measured 10 thread turns per inch. I am just not sure if it is a standard 3/8 pin. It just does not look standard to me.

That pin is not a modified thread. It is standard.

do you have joint protectors of different sizes?
thats an easy way to know what size pin you have

It is probably just brass and not brass plated.

That pin is not a modified thread. It is standard.

It does look a bit longer than a standard 3/8x10 pin, however. I've got a Russ Espiritu like that and had to bore a shaft joint a bit deeper to fit.

It is probably just brass and not brass plated.

oh, that sounds cool. It does look like a really old cue.

Every tap and die set that I have ever owned also comes with thread pitch gauges.
