My wife texted me that she had 2 questions for me and then she proceeded to not follow-up. To which I responded - I was sitting here waiting for your questions with bait on my breath. "Huh" she texted back. How could any decent lady not get that reference?

I think I'm just going to text her that she gets the last 8 and all the breaks.

She doesn't get me.

Obviously, she's a high class lady who knows the right word is "bate." How she ended up with a basement dweller is anybody's guess.

Of course, there is the possibility that you know this and were making a joke in which case... nevermind!

no it is likely he eats worms and has bait on his breath. any decent lady would say huh as it is to mean i wonder why or huh meaning did i hear you right?

and many 30 and under men are living in their mothers basement as they cannot go out on their own quite yet.
and corresponds with his wife using only texts.

and his replay is to offer a lousy spot in 9 ball to her.

does that clear things up?

next time dont get such a worthless wife. and you may get a decent cue in trade along with some high priced chalk.
I would have traded her for an IOU to a deadbeat.
and if you want to keep your wives. try giving them a nice new vacuum cleaner for birthday or christmas then they will appreciate you more.
Good way to commit suicide.

It's a funny thing how spouses, after listening to you prattle on about this and that pool wise, unconsciously adopt some of the silly pool room patter we use day-in-day-out.

Every once and awhile Gail will say something like, "Well, she gives (fill in the blank) the seven and out" without batting an eyelash or awareness of what she's saying.

I never say word but it always gives me an internal chuckle.

I have received enough eye-rolls to realize that the only way I will “prattle on about this and that pool wise” is when the alcohol disables the brain-to-mouth governor.
Now this is true. Honestly, I've maintained the George Costanza -- separate worlds paradigm with my wife. My pool life and family life have pretty much never intersected. Her total lack of interest in pool bothered me a bit back in my younger days, but it ended up working out for the best.

Best gift was a broom and flying lessons

If I am going to get my wife a gift that gift certainly won't be a tool that she uses to clean up after me. That would be like her gifting me 5 quarts of oil and a filter for her car. 😲

You should get her a carpet shampooer. Vacuums are too easy to use. Make her earn her keep.
