Where is the rule banning the "lift stroke" and the "sideways stroke" for close balls?

You might be in a position where you want to take an intentional foul and hardly move the cue ball at all. (Think 14.1 or One-Pocket.) Just tapping the top of cue ball with the ferrule makes that easy to do. But a legitimate stroke in that situation might unintentionally result in moving the cue ball to your opponent's advantage. Nerves can be hard to harness in pressure situations.
so he taps with his ferral now what okay its a foul. thats what he was doing anyway.

what are you going to do start a fight. not pay off. its up to you to say something if it is going to look wrong. not let it happen and then call it.
how can you be so sure there wasnt some forward motion. get real.

and why does someone in the pool room have to follow wpa rules. and do you want to lose a customer for life over something so trivial.

In the old days it was common to tap the top of the CB in one hole, or trap the CB in the jaws of the corner pocket with a double hit stroke. We've grown beyond both as a sport, both in the pro ranks and in the gambling room.

If you have a great customer, sure, let anything go. But almost all one hole players now-a-days I run into don't do either.

Ferrule: A reinforcement sleeve.
Feral: Semi-wild animal.
Ferral: Not a word.

Just another dumb rule highlighted by the implied legalese.

Per me, it's to prevent ruining the jock "gotchya" experience.

The lift stroke is a solution not a technical issue.

The only problem with that rule is how to penalize it. They're already taking a foul. Loss of game?
It's up to the official to determine the penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct. They have to consider the player's previous behavior and previous warnings, the level of the event and player, the benefit of the foul, and whether the TD has set particular rules for default penalties for particular actions.

Of course in unofficiated play, there is a problem with that determination.

we got the chalk p0lice in one thread and the spelling police in another.

I thought you might not want to appear ignorant. Nothing wrong with ignorance, we all are about some things. Continuing to misspell is obstinate ignorance which is not excusable.

You forgot one. Trivia question: Which world champion's book has this on page 5?

And you thought "furl" was just for flags, sails, and umbrellas.

you are a sad individual. anyone that rates someone on their spelling or grammar has more problems than evident.
go back to your life and leave others with spelling mistakes to their own misfortunes.

No wonder I've never figured this game out.

For some reason I thought the shaft was the skinny part with the screw sticking out of it.
Since the butt is supposed to have the screw, I've been holding the cue backwards.

Can someone lead me to a source for 30mm tips. BTW I prefer Hard

Back in the day, it WAS common that all players who had never read a rule book would do just that. But, once we learned re: the ‘forward stroke’ & ‘CB must be shot out of the kitchen’ rules, things changed. Specifying BCA rules before the game starts (and carrying a copy) helps prevent conflicts.

I didn't rate you. I have you the opportunity to learn the correct spelling. Take it how you want, tho.

If you were gambling let the guy do damn near what he wants.

Question is can you do the same thing back to him, but better?

Oh & Maha, the way you represent yourself here makes you fair game for exactly what DeeDeeCues posted.
