Per Wikipedia, it emerged as a practice game in 1900, but the first set of pool balls made specifically for pro eight ball (meaning two color sets and the eight ball) came in 1925.
In the past, it was shootout at 3-3, but we shall see.
Shane is one of the best jumpers, along with Filler.

Both are certainly capable at jumping, but I'd call Yapp, Gorst and Ko Pin Yi the state of the art in jumping today.

Very close call between Gorst, Yapp and Ko Pin Yi, but I would agree that Gorst has probably executed more difficult jumps over his career than the other two. Shaw, Ouschan and Chua are also amazing jumpers.

Even if he won this event, it would be unlike Matchroom to count a World 10 ball championship as a Mosconi Cup credential. Szewczyk was not selected for Team Europe in the year in which he won the World 10ball.
Nonetheless, Shaw has a chance to write a great story this week in Saigon, and what a story it could be. Wish him the best.
