Phillipines Open

Real Americans lol. You're disgusting.

He has his citizenship and pays his taxes and doesn't commit any crimes. What more do you want him to do? He didn't choose where his parents or ancestors are from... The xenophobia is oozing out of you, please seek therapy and other resources so you don't melt.

Thorsten is actually more American than Fedor, if you want to play semantics...what do you have to say about that?

Nobody bats an eye at the Olympics when more than half of the USA participants aren't even born in the USA. Same goes for sports teams. You think every player on the Knicks was born in New York or even America?

You poor entitled, sheltered boy. Now go cry to the mods or something.
Agreed… he’s a legal tax paying immigrant. I’m all for what ice is doing to clean out the trash but Thorsten is an American in my book. I’d be happy to see him on the mosconi cup team

I see four not so well known or well traveled Filipinos still in the field. Plus three more prominent ones as well. A Filpino B team could beat the U.S. MC team for sure! Looks like the Pinoys are eliminating each other moreso than foreign players.

Alcaide is the underdog in his match and Shane/Yapp have no cakewalk either.

This event has certainly amplified just how insanely boring pool is without a shot clock. The stop, start, bobbing up and down, lint picking, jerking off shafts, leaning left and right. It's not PSR, it's sharking. Bloody boring as hell to watch (apart from the times it occasionally erupts into an argument or visible disdain).

Been watching a lot of the non-TV tables through re-streams where I am based. Makes me appreciate more the players who are genuinely playing at a consistent, smooth pace, regardless of shot clock.

I still think Reyes cup should be Asia vs the winner of Mosconi. Give the US some incentive to pull their fingers out of their proverbial.
Europe could field a team that competes with an Asian team (though the way the teams are organized and selected is so heavily mummied by MR anyway, in order to push their product, it's almost irrelevant).

I think a lot of that has to do with Matchroom making the pockets 4 inches. Players are far more robotic now and put a stronger emphasis on PSR or lining up a shot because anyone is liable to miss. I don't think we will see too many players like Shaw, Drago, Strickland, etc. in this modern era with super tight pockets. There's just too much margin for error. Heck, even Vogel and Shaw played slow in their match.

Bring back normal sized pockets. Make pool exciting again.

I think first the USA has to prove they can win against Europe, or else what's the point of changing Reyes Cup to be Asia vs winner of MC. We all know it would be Asia vs. Europe every year.

But I suspect if USA manages to win this year and next, they may go that route.
