I disagree with his decision to do this, especially for the stated reason that he is not confident in his game right now. But he qualified through his game. He played his way on to the team.

He earned it when players who other people might believe are better players, didn't.

I think his lack of confidence in his game would have motivated him to prepare better and I think he would have found his best game under the pressure of the MC.

I also admire his decision to do what he thinks is correct for whatever reasons. This took a lot of courage.
 
I know what it's like in this situation, this man is not 20.
Toasty did not just pop up one day, and become a Good player, he's a HOF player.
He's developed a good life in the US.
He got it right.
In my Post It pic here our team was in Germany.
I would not want to of lived there in my youth, the residents in Konigswinter, were not friendly at all.
Many adults still showed the hangover from WWII.
 
Smart on his part. You are better off selecting 6 of the best rated players on APA/TAP/BCA leagues and throwing them in as they can't do any worse than what we've had.
