Calvin will have his prostate cancer surgery May 24th at the VA in Shrevport,La., thanks for all your prayers for Calvin.

Calvin's old friend Mike Massey was doing an exibition in Shrevport,La a few weeks ago and heard about Calvin's condition, Mike called Calvin and they chated for about an hour, it lifted Calvin's spirits alot to hear from his old road partner.

My brother Country Calvin has prostate cancer, it is just in his prostate and hasn't spread so he is going to have surgery in a few weeks, and then some chemo, so asking everyone to say a prayer for Calvin, thanks in advance.

I'm back home from my camping /hunting trip and had the best of times!, can't wait until next year to do it all over again!

Well it's that time of the year again, man I sure do love the "Fall" of the year!, I'm leaving out on my annual camping/hunting trip for a few months with my squirrel dog "Cooter", be back around Thanksgiving weekend!

I went down to Shooter's in Texarkana last Wednesday night, practiced shooting pool for a few hours, I talked to Jerry Blackstock for awhile, he seemed to be in good spirits and looked pretty good.

Shooter's in Texarkana has league pool & tournaments Tuesday,Wednesday & Thursday nights with free pool from 5:00 P:M till 2:00 A:M and a live band, you can't beat that anywhere I know of.:thumbup2:

Ray Hansen "aka Big Truck' stopped through Arkadelphia,AR. yesterday afternoon on his way home from last weekends 9-Ball tournament at High Pockets in Memphis,TN. Ray called me and we met up at the local poolroom and had a beer,shot pool/ and chat.

Ray finished 7/8 in a tuff tournament, many good players attended, we had a great visit for about an hour, Ray gave me a Big Truck shirt and pool case patch, I think I'm going to put the patch on a hat, it will LQQK good on a hat.

We also discussed having another Country Calvin Classic, so stay tuned for the anouncement of another great tournament in the near future!

Melton is hitting okay, didn't really impress me, but played smart. He was playing Brad Huffman from here in Wichita, but lived in KC for a few years.
BTW, I have played Calvin before. He showed up in Wichita at Shooters with a road buddy some years back.

Not much been going on pool wise lately, been taking care of my tomatoe's and other veggies.........

It was just my day for playing the Ponies at Oaklawn Park!, almost everything I played was a winner!, picked 7 winners out of 10 races, picked three tri-fectas!, and won some coin playing pool later that night, The Arkansas Derby 2012 was good to me!:thumbup:

The Arkansas Derby is this weekend in Hot Springs,AR. at the Oaklawn Park Race Track!, going over this afternoon for the weekend, playing the ponies is gambling but usually some pool action out in the bars/clubs!:smile:
