    You Have To Laugh

Ya gotta wonder what his starting bid would be if he thought his cue attractive. I'm not laughing, just shaking my head.

I don't understand this exercize. I'd request a significant partial shipping refund from the buyer. If it didn't come, just leave neg. FB.

    David Barber cues...

I had a Barber cue, e-b find from years ago. I contacted him for a 2nd shaft and I found him to be very responsive, and just a heck of a nice guy. Workmanship including points was just short of very high quality, and his prices are right on the mark. The cue played beautifully; med. hit, and...

    I Just Can't Help Myself!

I have a S. Weston piloted-ivory cue. It's hard to imagine anyone regretting that choice. I'd guess you're now truly @ the 2 - 3 weeks away time frame. After you receive it, be sure not to put it in a case and forget to play with it.

need to buy good clean straight

It may well be the the collector investment cues aren't moving at all for a decent price (as seen here and on e-bay), indicating that the values are dropping, and the owners would rather just hold on to them. But I do wish you a good year.

    Big E-bay Problem.....HELP!

Ship the cue in order to avoid "disgracing" him further. My guess is that he just changed his mind and is unwilling to take responsibilty for his actions. In any case, it's his problem and he's dumping it on you. I wouldn't allow it.

    Indicating the joint pin

Another option probaby easier and about as accurate as would be necessary, is to drill and tap a 3/4" diameter piece of delrin (which closes up a bit after tapping for a tighter thread). Then chuck up a piece of mild steel and chase the male thread. Screw the delrin gage on and turn to cleanup.

    Retiring

You can't have it both ways. If you whine that people don't appreciate high quality cues, then you can't complain when they do - and then want to trade up for one. There's probably some truth to what you write, but let's face it: the market is becoming saturated from good and great builders...

    Indicating the joint pin

Your method would work if the threads are cut perfectly concentric with the major dia. (which is probably the case), but runout on a thread really should be checked from the pitch dia., which locates the female.

Cognoscenti Cues Now Available In The US

Overall I agree with you, but with an exception: The medium is wood, CNC is the tool. I don't much like radiused corners (except I do like ovals). So the issue for me is the builder's willingness to do a little handwork, and precise execution makes it work. Mostly ignored here has been the...
