Some damned good matches tonight on stream. Vitaly Patsura beats John Morra 9-8, so he faces Shane tomorrow morning. There's a chance the next match might be Gorst-Chohan? Here's hoping.

It's wild to see her improvement over just the last 9 months. I believe she started the year right at 600 fargo.

SVB and Schneider are shooting lights out. Fedor is as well after the SVB match yesterday.

I've seen far less development in her defensive and tactical decisions and execution, and do not concur that she is improving rapidly. Still, the improvement in her pattern play is a good sign, so I took note of it.
 
And the new Texas Open champ is Shane Van Boening. Facing Miguel Polanco in the finals, Shane fell behind 1-4, then won the next 8 games in a row (just 2 B&Rs in that stretch) to take it 9-4.

that's a strange one. is polanco an unknown south american? ok field wasn't stacked but still had a bunch around 800 mark

Polanco is new to me as well. FargoRate right now has him at 755, with a fairly low robustness, and says he is from Guatemala. But he may be living in Texas. He got to the hot seat against SVB and lost, then beat Vitaliy Patsura, apparently after being way behind in the match. Patsura had knocked out Gorst and Atencio.

It's great to see so many pool players from South America come to the forefront in recent times. Gerson Martinez comes to mind. Pool really has become global in scale. I attribute this to Matchroom, Predator, and the WPA, in no particular order, that have elevated what used to be, in my opinion, a game and now turned it into a sport.
