Got this idea about short rack 11 ball from Mike Massey. He said put the 11th ball in line with the head ball.
I tossed this idea to members.
In Louisiana Bogies liked it and is doing their version , and now Skinnys gonna try their version.
So now you have...
Two new events on 9'.
Cool these are test runs for both rooms, they like the idea, and so do the older one pkt players.

if it is to speed up play why not just have the players play faster. slow players will drag out any game.

even c and d players can play a game quickly and i bet they do it more than the better players that stall on purpose or have to take too much time to think through every single situation.

Try and tell that to those older players that play only this game.
There are trying something new, why the hell not?
That's saying ALLOT for that group.
I'd prefer to be in any large room playing every match as if it was a final, and if I do get knocked out Especially first round, I'm there, I wanna play and now 1/2 the tables in the room are OPEN and 1/2 the players might want action. How does that sound, your already there????

I wonder how you break the balls! Interesting. With the back tier of balls gone from the rack the breaker could more easily leave a cross bank.
The .org players say it's not that much different breaking, which they were surprised testing it out. It's what Mike Massey suggested.

Here's what I ran across with allot of room owners holding weekend events.
From the Front Page article...

''It was just one of those things. By the time that the $1,000-added, 3rd Annual TOP (The Open Player) Tour Championship (Dec. 27-28) had whittled down to four of its original 34 entrants and spilled over into Sunday morning, its host venue, Breaktime Billiards in Clemmons, NC was already into its general-public ‘gear.’ As so often happens in such situations, room patrons not competing in the event had a way of interfering with the four competitors that were left. The general public tends to have little understanding of how their actions at an adjacent table can and do interfere with competitors who are competing for a sizeable amount of cash prizes. In turn, they tend to exhibit no sympathy or even awareness of those players, who would understandably prefer as few distractions as possible.'''

I just hope it doesn't eventually do away with full rack 1pckt like short rack banks did to full rack.

Sounds fun though

How does house make any money on NO ENTRY?

In Louisiana it’s Buffalo’s. Every Wednesday they have a short rack free entry, single elimination, handicap tournament sponsored by Joe Long. Joe long has almost single handily improved 1P tournament participation around the country and in Europe.

You claim to understand business? How does the house make money on a band with no cover charge ?

Never been to Skinny Bobs so I have no idea, if they have food, full bar, pro shop.

So my question was asked because I do understand no entry, no green fee.

No experience, with a Pool Room.
