Allison Fisher, Mark Wilson and I will be releasing on "Cuesday" 2 parts of our 4-episode interview with BCA Hall of Fame and Accu-Stats Founder, Pat Fleming. What a gift he has given us all with his wonderful repository of pool matches captured over the years featuring players many of us never got a chance to witness in their prime. Thank you Pat!

One of the great pioneers in pool. Pat Fleming is one of my favorite people in our pool world.

When he was running Accu-Stats, he paid pool players royalties for their appearance on his video recordings based on sales. One time, when Keith McCready and I were attending a pool event—can't remember which one—he handed Keith a check for over $800. We received a few checks in the mail since that time too. Who does that? Pat Fleming did. That's who.

His Accu-Stats Magazines, located right here today on AzBilliards website, provided some of the best tournament pool info of their times; a pool historical record or archives, if you will. Check out the list of American pros at the U.S. Open in November 1985 compared to today's count of American pro-caliber players. In '85, there was a plethora of choices to be on the Mosconi Cup, if there was one. (First Mosconi Cup was 1994.) Today? I can count the amount of American pro-caliber players on one hand.
