Will he play?

Unless he gets picked for ROW in the Reyes Cup, he is not going to go to Philippines.

He played in the Philippines Open last year. Lost to Bustamante. He’ll be there again. Then fly to Qatar for the Qatar Open a few days later.

I also expect Gorst to be on Team World at the Reyes Cup with SVB, FSR, Filler - not sure who the final pick would be.

Under current WNT policies, players have to play two “majors” to qualify for the Mosconi Cup or Reyes Cup. If Fedor skipped the European Open and UK Open (as I think he and Shane did) then they have to play US Open and Philippines Open to qualify.

So they are pretty much guaranteed to go play the Philippines Open, IMO.

Why does Filler like such a light cue- 16 oz is very light

I'll tell you exactly why. If you played on these tables with these balls, you'd want a light cue to, it's the easiest way to consistently hit soft enough.

3 scratches on the break in the semies were just too much. So unlucky..
Every comeback attempt was interupted by a scratch on a break

Gorst actually played in both the UK and European opens. Did not finish high in either. Shane played in the Florida, Arizona and U.S. opens. He already said he’d play in the Reyes Cup. I’d expect him at the Philippines Open.

Seems like MR sold tickets on Saturday for fans to attend the whole day, no? Some events they have had afternoon and evening sessions.

If that’s how tickets were sold it would explain the sparser crowd for the late match. Few people are going to watch 10 hours of pool live.

Filler-FSR and Capito-Gorst were really high level matches. I was having doubts Francisco could get back to being a top 5-8 player again, but he’s rediscovered his old form.

Filler and Gorst were so close. One barely missed shot and one bad safety did them in.
