Shaw vs. Doung Quoc Hoang

Shaw's claiming Duong's soft breaking is ridiculous
while Shaw himself intentionally put away his break cue and practice soft breaking during time-out
and acting out and walked away after being warned by ref is disrespectful
but it's Shaw... maybe he knew he was gonna lose

Making a spectacle;
Option a) know's he bit off more than he can chew and is trying to employ some mind games
Option b) furthering an agenda - clearly something that needs addressing. Maybe MR will appoint some kind of software, probably coming from a financial backhander to a business partner with which they aim to market and make some dollar bills (kind of like Hawkeye, VAR etc)
Option c) He's just being himself. A pompous, annoying, sore loser
 
Someone made a video on FB of all of the first day's breaks, showing only the breaks. Doung was clearly WAY slower than Shaw in all of the breaks. It wasn't even close. I can't tell if the ref called any of them illegal. The video creater had his own commentary of what was ok, and what was bad, and it was covering up if the ref took any action.

With that background info, I could def see Shaw going nuts if HE was called for a slow break on Day 2, especially if Doung wasn't called for any on Day 1.

ps, what was the final count?

Based on what I could hear of his discussion with the ref and some information from a Viet friend who understands the commentary, I think the sequence went that Shaw believed Hoang was breaking soft on Day 1. On Day 2 Shaw won a bunch of games in a row and got a warning for breaking too slow. I think Shaw said to the ref (during the blow up) that Hoang had received no warning.

I presume that Shaw was unhappy with what he perceived as more soft breaking on day 3 with no action by the referee, so he unscrewed his breaker and started breaking soft with his playing cue (presumably on the theory “if soft breaks are okay I’m going to do it too”) and then got warned and blew up because he feels Hoang’s soft breaks are allowed and his aren’t.

After the lengthy break, they agreed to use the 3 point break rule. Apparently the promoter had suggested that before the event and Jayson had rejected it, but eventually accepted it as a solution at this stage.

I'm all for fairness. Probably all of us here would be angry if your comment here is true (no reason to think it isn't). I would be.
