I know why… But it still makes no sense to keep pool in a bad light over gambling when the biggest stars in team sports are promoting fan duel. I have also always wondered why pool gets a bad image for action when there is far more action in golf than has ever been in pool.

Point shaving scandals never stopped basketball betting. Even college ball, where for a long time the athletes weren't paid (at least, officially), and so were in prime position to be corrupted.

this ameer ali guy with fargo 844 can play a little despite being a working man.. obviously can't travel as much as full pros, but still has an elite game

True. That scandal hurt pool's chances back in the 1990s but today, pool is just too small a market to garner much attention with the bet sites.
