Is straights making a come back?

Straight Pool remains the best game to practice! That's where you learn how to handle the cue ball. I used to practice when no one was around. I could run 30 to 40 balls pretty consistenly and occasionally 50 or more. My high run in practice was 63. Not so good but good enough.

It definitely helped my 9-Ball game and even moreso my One Pocket.
 
I've loved straight pool since I was a teenager. I was very fortunately to be sponsored in to one of the American Straight Pool Championships about 10 years ago or so, which was a cool experience. To me, it's the best pool game - followed very closely by one pocket.
