Pay Pal is a Piece of Crap

The process has been ongoing for 3 ,moths now and they don't show anything in my profile just that a case has been filed. Everytime i call them i get a different answer. The first person i talked too said they would send me a mailing label to resend what the seller sent. The next person 2 weeks later said , i would have a decision on the 15th, i called on the 15th and was told the case was closed in my favor and i will receive and email and the money in 5 business days. None of this ever happened. today the guy i talked too said that they will have an answer by the 25th and would only do the refund if seller refunded the money.

I have not received emails or updates in my pay pal account sor email since i first filed , these people in the Philippines only know what they read in the computer in front of them, they lie to get you off of the phone

It may have something to do with dealing with China
You're clear as mud. Are u talking about Paypal or the people you bought from? Paypal site clearly states that if you win the dispute you get paid. Something is still in process, my guess the Chinese are fkn around. Wow, whatta surprise. BTW, are you in the Phillipines?? If so i have no clue what they're doing. Have you contacted Paypal direct/online? https://www.paypal.com/us/cshelp/personal?locale.x=en_US

Pay Pal only offers buyer protection if the seller refunds the money to them. I've used pay pal for 20 years now i'm done. Pay Pal is owned by ebay, which is in bankruptcy .. I'm not sure any other pay service offer fraud protection, hopefully my credit card company will
No, PayPal's buyer protection does not depend on the seller voluntarily refunding the money.

I thought terms of paypal are such that it can put in or take funds in accordance with its policies and determinations...so it wouldn't be "if" the seller returns funds, moreso "when PayPal recovers" the funds.

I guess if the seller account is insufficient to recover 100%...well that would influence the return of the funds.

Ive worked with some recovery units and they generally dont pay before they recover.
I recently recovered a claim from PayPal and they didn't recover a dime from the scammer.

If you have a claim, make damn sure you file it and follow up exactly as their policies require.

Remember that they are getting scammed by claims as well, so they have safeguards in place for that.

The last time I filed a claim I used an AI agent to run the process for me. It can be tough to get a person on the phone because their own customer service wall is in fact AI. AI can get you past AI.

Basically all customer service everywhere is going AI.

Any misstep in the process can set you back, or even get your claim denied.

PayPal helped build my business and remains a core component.

I run a lot of revenue through PayPal so it's easier for me to get a person on the phone. I have "gold" level service. Even still, I used AI to run my process the last time.

yes if he used f&f to cheat paypal out of their money for providing the service. then you have no claim and also should be barred from using pay pal in the future f&f . and deserve to lose your money as you were the thief to start with.

if you did pay with a credit card as you only should. and not money in your account with them, then you have full leverage and can cancel your credit card sale up to 30 days i believe.

so as the buyer you are completely covered. and it is the buyers that need protection from bad sellers.
as the seller can do due diligence on the buyer to see if he is real and has an address and money. if he chooses not to then its on him for sure.

but any transaction with two individuals that never met can go badly. that's the chances you take by taking money or sending it to a stranger.

no one gets barred for using F&F. if you're dumb enough to take the risk then whatever happens is on you. Its been used a gillion times on here, there's a few on here i've known well enough to use it. No biggie. With strangers?? No way.

that's what it sounds like but i think the OP is in the Philippines dealing with both Paypal and a Chinese vendor. Don't think we're hearing the whole story. On the US P'pal site the dispute resolution process is clearly stated.
Those matters could definitely complicate things. And it isn't just Papal, the international laws and regulations that apply can make the situation very different for all parties involved.

Like maha said above only pay by credit card, not your Paypal balance. Double protection and none of your credit card info is spread around to different sites able to be hacked. Plus, you get any cash back on your credit card.

... i think the OP is in the Philippines ...
Based on his previous posts, I'm pretty sure the OP lives in Ohio. I think he was implying that the customer service people are in the Philippines.

I've given up on trying to buy things from out of the country. It seems like even small items are now subject to tariffs.

If you haven't been paid then it hasn't been resolved. I don't think we're hearing all of this. Did you read the Dispute Resolution section? You haven't been paid because apparently the process is: A. Ongoing or B. You lost.
Yes, i went to the dispute center and i constantly argue with them becasue there is no ifo there.

Yes the service poeple are at a call center in the Philippines and they know nothing but what they read o0n their screen I am in Ohio

wtf???? Ebay doesn't own them nor are they on the verge of bankruptcy. A major stock checker has their chance of bankrupt at around 7% in the coming 24mos. They aren't folding anytime soon. I've bought a few things from Ali and Temu, used Paypal everytime, and had zero issues.
My bad they use too own pay pal they sold it off
  • The Acquisition (2002): eBay bought PayPal in 2002 and owned it as a subsidiary for 13 years. [1, 2]
  • The Spinoff (2015): eBay officially spun off PayPal into a separate, independent publicly traded company in July 2015. [1, 2]
  • Current Status: Both companies operate as completely separate businesses, and PayPal trades independently on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol PYPL. [1, 2]

Sounds familiar. I quit using PissPal and EBray long ago for all these reasons and more. When there are problems they protect themselves and not you.
