Moving to a heavy playing cue

I use a 23oz cue, 59 inch long. the main problem you might face,as others have said, increasing the weight from 18 to 20. Will have an impact on the balance. If you use it enough you can probably get over that. I would try first increasing the weight little by little. You might find, you don't...

Wood vs carbon fiber shafts for top pros - I went through the Fargo top 100 to see who uses what

What about Mickey Krause cue? Its just a standard 1 inch ferrule. Why would you put all that inside, with a ferrule that size? Same with the ko brothers zen cues, that looks the same.

"It's the Indian, not the arrow" the most nonsense I've ever heard.....

That cue was brought from a sports shop, where he saw it in the window, because it been sitting there for sometime, the butt was warped. He just learnt to use it like that.being age 12 or 13 i doubt he really cared.he just really liked his new cue. It was maple one piece. he certainly mastered...

Please help with my tip issue.

I do mine, the same. No power tools.a blade to remove the old tip and Just a file, sandpaper and glue.if its very oversized i use white tape on the ferrule. Alot of the final look is, having patience with it, and to burnish right, which is just friction.

Wood vs carbon fiber shafts for top pros - I went through the Fargo top 100 to see who uses what

Remember in the late 90s early 2000s, customs where used, fong pang chao used a gina to win the worlds in 2000, and hohman used a volmer to win his in 2003. and probably the most famous, reyes used, old Philippine cue that won the 1999 worlds. i could go on,there were loads. nearly all those...

Seller shipped cue via USPS on the 13th, but it is seemingly still not in transit. Just shows Accepted by USPS.

I just received a cue from usps, new Jersey to UK took 14 days. Its normally bit quicker, just depends how long it's in customs, once it gets into the country. With all the storys of cues, being stolen. Its a very nervous wait. As you see it, pass through the network.

(Unnoticed) 9-Ball Foul - Object Ball Out of Order

Most people who have done it,do own up to it.especially in tournaments.if watching what's going on its pretty obvious. What is less obvious, is cue ball fouls.unless your over the shot. Your relying on some ones honesty.

    Your prayers have been answered!

I know Joey would know this better, but I'm pretty sure.that cue was also forward balanced:) That shaft came from old bowling alley wood.

    Your prayers have been answered!

I'm curious to see how the right balance is achieved.with the weights being that equal. But that much weight in the shaft, it won't be for everybody.. Forward balance is not a new thing. I have a couple built to replicate an old Brunswick I liked using, which is incredibly forward balanced. With...

should I try a Meucci The Pro 12.5mm (maple) if I haven't liked other LD shafts (many)?

If you know what your looking for,it is possible to get something built that is really close.or sometimes it's just a case that you get lucky. It's important that you know, how your favourite cuemaker/brand tapers there shafts. So it might be the 2nd one where you figure it out. That way you can...

    Meucci's "The Pro Shaft"

I used the pro for about 8 months, and then I decided to go back to just a standard shaft. But too answer your question, in my experience, yes it has a lot of LD properties.especially when it's on a meucci butt. But I found it you use it on a different brand.it has very similar deflection to a...

    US Open-The Other Way Around

It's been this way for years, even before the pockets got tighter.before this current generation of players. 9 ball was the most exciting game to watch. Because players would go for it,no matter what. But in recent years, players not willing to risk it all on the big shot. Even now though,the...

How did this become OK ?

It's amazing, when a big tournament finishes, these kind of threads always pop up again. it does seem to be a matchroom tradition. It's old news, been going on for the last couple years.

US Open (9 ball) 2024, August 19-24, Atlantic City

I saw that too,he told the ref,and the following rack was still unhappy with something.that table looked a bit slow to me. I think he was complaining about the side rails, even Emily came around. He did well to win that match.and the other guy was playing very slow.and he was 4 -1 down too.
