    the IPT is a joke

I personally helped coordinate an IPT qualifier at the THE POOL ROOM in Marietta GA and I can attest to the validity of the competition. As far as player's on the tour throwing games away and losing on purpose, I highly doubt that. I think you really have to understand all the little details...

Why Eufemia's 625 run isn't considerd the record?

Larry Guninger (sp?) resides near ATL, GA. Plays actively on the UPA. Is a knowledgeable but opinionated person. Most people here are not sure if he's telling the truth or dictating gospel. Due to his controversial posts, he has been banned from this site. He does perform some amazing trick...

Deuel Soft Breaks and Fouls 5x Against Orcullo:and winning!

They played 8-ball at Bankshots during the tournament and Corey seemed to be coming out ahead. I think during the second set, Corey put a 6 or 7 pack on Dennis.

Why does PooL die in the Summer??

Those are quite a few good reasons. I still think there HAS to be a way for the the industry to pick up business in the summer though. From what I've observed, the big pool crowd is at night when golf and other outdoor activities are already out of the way. Someone else here pointed out that a...

Why does PooL die in the Summer??

Its that time again and I know the slow season will be here soon. What I don't understand is why the pool scene dies in the summer?? I've heard several reasons but mostly: good weather and people would rather go outside and do other things. -I know that many pool players out there are the...

    Louis, Paul, Jason, or Sarah?

I like your points Scott. The tournament is over and all in all, only two players walked out slightly disappointed. Everyone else was pretty happy with how everything ran. We had some players who were having a good day and some players that were not having as much luck with their games. It will...

    Louis, Paul, Jason, or Sarah?

Good Point! Here's where I run into some problems. The ideal handicap system is suppose to place two players in a situation where either one of them can win, given that they play their BEST at their level. It would be designed on a case by case situation so that fairness can be established. I...

    Louis, Paul, Jason, or Sarah?

Yea, I know exactly what you mean. The handicap tournament at Mr. CUES II run by Dave Biggers is a very good tournament but you just never know how long it would last. If you get Stevie, Brian Butler, Doug Young and Paul Song in the same tournament and they weren't losing, it could take a lot...

    Louis, Paul, Jason, or Sarah?

Cuetechasaurus - I understand what you are saying, however, just about every handicap tournament I've seen is game spotted. There is a major problem with this idea: time needed to complete a full tournament. With game races, a tournament full of C and B players may only take 3-5 hours with 20 or...

    Louis, Paul, Jason, or Sarah?

6 and the Last 3 is slightly less because there is only 1 money ball off the break. There's also less chance for combos compared to the 6 & the 8 where there is 2 money balls. 6 and the Last 3 also forces the opponent to run out more often than the 6 + 8 would.
