An idea to increase interest in Canada

I'm not sure what the first statement has to do with the second. In any case, the point is to provide clear, measurable and obtainable goals. First to make the top 16, then to win the tournament, then to qualify at Q School. You are not considering the long term effects. It would take years to...

An idea to increase interest in Canada

Note: Sadly, I lack the money to implement this, but if I had it, I am sure it would spark a resurgence in Canadian snooker. I'd like to see an annual tournament held in Halifax. It would be invitation only for the top 16 Canadian players. I think that with secure backing, the support of World...

    2011 German Masters - Feb 2 - 6

Sadly, no credit card with which to pay. I'd love to see that. Thanks again, Scaramouche. I appreciate these reminders since I have a terrible memory for such things.

Snooker Shootout: What do you think?

It was very entertaining. Once. As a yearly event, I think it would be great. Any more than that would spoil it, I think.

Nothing wrong with that. WTG. It's great when this sort of thing happens because it is very encouraging and really helps keep you interested in the sport.

    Vintage Adam Snooker Cue

I have an Adam by Helmstetter. I think it suits your description. It has a wood to wood joint. I've been thinking about getting a new cue so if the price is right I would consider selling it to you. PM me if you want to discuss details.

Forgive the title. It's just a joke. I think he's looking good to take the whole thing.

    The Masters: upset city?

Great info, just what I was looking for. It appears as though the gap in ability is even narrower among the top 16 than it was in the past. Also, judging by the recent rule changs in the ranking system, I've returned to the sport at a time when the rankings themselves are about to become much...

    The Masters: upset city?

I've been out of the loop for a long time. I am wondering if it's just my perception that all the favorites seem to be getting knocked off or if my lack of familiarity with the winners means that I am under-rating them. Higgins is already in trouble.

    Step Two for Team Name!

I think it's great. I see it as just having fun. What else are games for?

What type of joint do you prefer?

For the money I can afford, wood is the best I've found but I have to confess my experience is limited.

    Reardon on Snooker

Yes. I've seen them. They're fantastic.

    Throw

I have issues with the demonstrations in that video but I've been such an argumentative dick lately I'm going to stay mum other than to say I abstain.

    US Snooker Rules

You're right. I regret my close-mindedness. I'm normally not like that but I've been hanging out in a forum with less reasonable people and I was hasty. Bad habit.

    Tip for Snooker

As always, Wity, you are a font of useful information. Blue Diamond was always the go-to around here when I played regularly. I've found them to be very durable. My cue badly needs a new tip so I will be looking at new options now, thanks to you.

    US Snooker Rules

1-pocket is more popular than ever? With whom? In the 90's I saw with my own eyes as pool table after pool table replaced snooker tables throughout Canada. I realize snooker was never as big in the States as it is here, but it follows. The appeal was the ease with which young people could play...

Welcome to the 2011 Masters Prediction Contest

Looks interesting. I have Williams facing Higgins again but in the second round this time. It should be a battle after their match at the UK.

    US Snooker Rules

Sounds interesting, but it isn't snooker. And I think given the size of the table etc. it's demanding enough already considering the decline of snooker compared to pool is broadly believed to be due to the level of difficulty of the game.
