I am working to get myself into the controlled break game for 8-9-10. So I am researching how to find those sweet spots. My one pocket break is ok but iffy on scratching if I don't get the hit right. my straight pool needs alot of work.

    APA Question spin off.

Mitch I fully agree and we tried to be cheerful and helpful to the player. I agree that the other team likely did not bring the player up to speed. As for the three foul rule on a lesser player. If they are cocky and boastful, it could be the humbling experience they need. If they are simply...

    APA Question spin off.

Jim, There is no handicap. Except for the fact that its nine ball, which as well all know means any slop win is a win and you miss late in a run and it is likely your opponent will win.

I agree with you jokrswylde. It was the attitude and despite us being as nice and as helpful as possible It just felt wrong overall. We tried to explain several things to the player but she wasn't hearing it. Sounds like she has found out BCA is not for her and will back to what makes her happy...

How are you Aiming cut shots.

It is not how I am playing or trying to play. Just through working on trying to figure mental adjustments to increase my mental feel of pocketing balls. It is something I discovered and was wondering what it meant really I guess. At the end of the day all these things are just tiny parts of...

How are you Aiming cut shots.

I had to go through the motions again as I am at work now. The ball of my right foot was not changing location just rotating some. So I aligned the balls and got down and checked them. Then stood up without moving my right foot "I'm right handed". Then Pivot my right foot to what we are calling...

How are you Aiming cut shots.

First that is a great diagram!. Yes this is exactly what I am inferring. With the green line being my starting point of the shot and the base placement of my stance. Then pivoting my entire body and stance to the blue line. Note: I am not holding the green line stance and hitting the blue.

Sixpack, Thanks for chiming in. You basically described the situation I was/am still kind of in, to a tee. I still Dog my runs too often and only time adjustments and practice will fix that. With that said and after a lot of personal reflection and Knowledge from players here and in my...

I am not going to disagree with you on that regard and I get that we build memories incorrectly in our minds often times. I was just trying to highlight I could play well enough at one time and am working on growing that direction the best I can and appreciate everyone taking their time to give...

I have been told recently by some Higher skill level players that my patterns in 8 ball could be better, Seems when I get BIH. I will choose my problem balls to get them cleared away but while giving up better patterns to up my percentage. The bigger deal is I just did not even see the pattern...

How are you Aiming cut shots.

On these shots I currently draw a imaginary line across the contact point then estimate the edge of the CB and create a cross with that center line focused on a center CB hit to start. . Then look at my guessed distance to cut/ hit the contact point and see if the timing and throw will create...
