This is a great thread. Really illustrates how helpful people can be on here. To add my two cents, I have enjoyed the Phil Capelle books, starting with "Play Your Best Pool," then moving on to the ones aimed at particular games ("Play Your Best Nine Ball"), etc.

Are they really mostly aimed at readers that play bank pool, or would they be useful for an average player who plays mostly eight ball and nine ball? I could definitely use some help with my banking, but if it's all bank pool strategy and safeties, I'm not so sure.

I have a really plain maple F-98 plain jane, with no points, inlays or anything. It's been my only playing cue for about five years. I like it. But, I have a predator 314-2 on it, so my opinion might not be worth much.

I had Simonis 860 on my home table. When I moved houses I decided to try the tour edition. To be honest, they don't seem to play that much differently to me. I'm no pro, though.

Will leaving pool balls in leather drop pockets on a furniture style table when its not in use damage or stretch out the pockets? I have to imagine the extra weight in them over a long period of time does some damage, but can't recall ever reading anything about it Thanks for the info.
