Which cloth is the best to you???

Please describe you reasoning.

I was going to Simonis 760 straight away, but a handful of guys around here swear up and down that Championship Tour Edition is just as fast and last quite a bit longer. I'm not so much worried about price, I want the best product for my table. Please share your first or second hand experience.

I'm not a big rush but I'm hoping to make a decision by next week. Only one thing is certian it will be blue.

I am a big fan of the Championship Tour Edition cloth. I have been recovering the tables at a local pool room for several years now and that is all that the owner will use. As far as I am concerned the quality is top notch, equal to Simonis, and we have found it to be considerably more durable. We have tested the two cloth types several times on heavily used tables and found that the Simonis wears out much more quickly.

Simonis 860. It's more or less the only type around here on pool tables. If you plan to compete locally, get what they have. If you plan to compete globally, get 860.
 
Every pool hall in the USA it seems like they use simonis 860. I grew up playing on a table with 760 and had no idea how weird and rare it was to have such nice fast cloth.

I have not played the tour edition but I'd be surprised if it's "just as fast", 760 is very fast and just great to play on, everything is effortless.

Googling found an article where simonis sued them for making false claims about how championship holds up better than 860. So I don't know which lasts longer. I do know 760 seems to show burn marks pretty easily.

If the money isn't a huge issue and you can afford to redo the felt regularly, I wouldn't worry about durability or marking, it won't wear out THAT fast, especially if this isn't going to be a public table that gets used constantly and treated poorly.

I'd say, if you want to make a truly informed decision and spend your money wisely, you should find tables with each and play on them. But if you are going to just buy 'blind' based on recommendations, you won't regret buying 760.
 
Simonis all the way

Simonis 860 is great and the standard , or 760 if you need faster cloth.

Plus Simonis is a sponsor all over the world for many many events and business ventures.

How can you not pay a bit more for the best cloth from those who care about the game and its people !

Money isn't so much the issue, as pain in the ass of having it recovered. My mechanic friend recommended the Tour Edition for longevity, and speed.

I don't really care what they play on around here. With a 1 year old, it seems like i get to play a tourny about once a month, and 1 league night a week. Other wise I play at home for about half hour to an hour a day after the kid goes to bed. I just want the most enjoyment out of my game down stairs.

I think I will try the Tour Edition unless some one here says absolutely not. If I hate it I willl tear it off right away and put Simonis back on. (I should've mentioned I have burnt out 860 now.)
 
Put on 760 if you want the table to make you work on delicasy in your stroke/game.
Put on 860 if you want your table to be "just like" the tournement tables.
 
I had Simonis 860 on my home table. When I moved houses I decided to try the tour edition. To be honest, they don't seem to play that much differently to me. I'm no pro, though.
 
I have a 9 foot Gabriel pro table, I put 860 on the table and after a couple of weeks I just hated it ,I had my table mechanic rip off the 860 and put 760 on it and I love it , plays great! Definitely plays faster but not crazy fast.
