    who makes a parabolic cue

Rick, I have to disagree on one point with you. I have aligned my share of parabolic dishes, they truly are a 3D parabolic shape. The reflected RF energy is a conical shape reflected back to the focal point. I think that is what you meant. Alan

Some tips can soak enough glue

Moori tips really soak up the glue. I would not be surprised to see a discolored layer next to the ferrule. I would not cut the tip off for a replacement either. Just my 2 cents, Alan Phelps Custom Cues

    Tip Install Issues

The cheap ferrules from the imports that I have seen, (the ones that will not hold a tip) have a waxy look. If you see one of these, beware. I have not tried it, but maybe a solvent wipe on the facing would help. Kim, I agree with you, the fix for me has been a quality ferrule change. Alan...

    pressing rings

Since I core handles and forearms, I always have some hollow wood laying around. I make a hollow tube like you described out of delrin about 3 to 4 inchs long. That goes next to the rings, then a cored whatever comes next. All this gets placed in a bar clamp for 24 hrs. Just a small rap on the...

    "A" joint question(s) - broke forearm (s)

A joints with connecting screws are also a tenon joint. Leave the connecting screw in place, assuming it has not been bent. To remove it would alter the hit and feel of the repaired cue. Alan Phelps Custom Cues

    Wood allergies

The cocobolo really can do a number on me also. the last that I turned was heavy and oily. I was messed up for a week. I don't have a problem with tulipwood (as of yet). So I think it is safe to say that I am not allergic to all rosewoods and probably neither are you Neil. Just my 2 cents, Alan...
