Utah Pool Table - Diamond Professional, Brunswick Gold Crown, Anniversary, Centennial Wanted

Not in a rush, but looking for a Diamond Professional or a Brunswick Gold Crown, Anniversary or Centennial in Northern Utah. Have not decided on 8 or 9ft yet, just seeing what is out there. Have an 8ft Oak Olhausen that I'll be selling once I find one.

Any trusted Mechanics in the Utah area?

Did you have any luck finding one? Several years ago I bought a used table and paid a prominent local shop to move it and it was a less than perfect outcome.

2024 AZ Billiards Straight Pool Challenge!

I did a personal best run of 25 last week on my 8ft table at home. I used to be a better player when my eyes were younger and I played in halls a lot, but I never played straight pool back then so I don't have a baseline. That was the Color of Money era of the late 80's into early 90's so...

    Cue Price/Quality threshold... Aesthetics?

This is very encouraging because I want to get 2-3 great cues for my boys and I, but don't want to pay for aesthetics - just for quality. I've always believed in buying good equipment, so it's great to know I can get there for around $500 or less.

    Cue Price/Quality threshold... Aesthetics?

Is there a price point where anything above that is mostly about the aesthetics and not play quality? (Point of diminishing returns) I'm aware that it's the arrow not the indian and Efren played with a $10 cue to beat basically everyone. I'm just curous if it's worth the extra in terms of...

8 or 9ft table for this game room?

I laid out some cardboard where the playing surface would be and a 9ft would just be too many compromises. I could deal with the bar side, but it's also going to put me too close to the opposite wall, as was pointed out above. And in the corners I have some huge JBL speakers that I won't be...

8 or 9ft table for this game room?

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'm going to find some cardboard and cut it to the 50x100" playing area of a 9ft table and put it over my current 8ft table. Then I can experiment with fitting it straight, at an angle or possibly cutting into the bar.

8 or 9ft table for this game room?

I have an 8ft Olhausen laminate table and need new cloth and rail work. I've always wanted a 9ft table and there is a GC IV for sale locally right now. There is enough space all around except 1 corner near a bar which is hard to explain - The orange area is where the back of a cue would go...

Suggestions for layout of Game/Billiards Room?

Would I gain anything going perfectly in the middle? It appears if I move it just a few inches from center like the last drawing above (as the previous owner placed), I will miss the bar on straight on shots from that end of the table, including straight up the rail, only shots angled from the...

Why do I always miss the money shot?!

This might upset you, but it's partially because you make statements like "Why do I always miss money shots?" Many people have been programmed to tell themselves they fail or will fail with statements like this. Instead when you make a brilliant (or even lucky shot) tell yourself, "Yeah...

Suggestions for layout of Game/Billiards Room?

And here's what it looks like if I just center the table under the existing pool table light on the ceiling. What do you think? Should I do this or move it further from the bar and closer to either or both of the walls (to right and bottom of drawing)

Suggestions for layout of Game/Billiards Room?

Here's what that looks like if I put that size of area in the lower right corner and center the table, pretty close to the bar.

Suggestions for layout of Game/Billiards Room?

Here's a drawing pushed 5ft from the top wall on long rail side Here's a drawing centered on long walls, not quite centered between bar and wall on the right. I can scoot it toward the bar and away from the wall some.

Yes, you're right. when posting this I thought this was a different enough scenario with a true to scale drawing and different size table. I've modfied my original thread and asked mods to remove this one. Original http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=383915 Thanks

Can anyone identify this "mystery" pool table?

I followed the advice from this thread and posted to the mechanic forum and they found that it's a chinese made table that's not good quality. I love forums, thanks so much.

Is this "mystery table" worth getting?

On advice from another forum member I'm posting here to see if this table is good quality and worth getting. They say it's Custom, 9ft but don't know what it is and can't see markings on it.
