Got this cue for a tip and joint repair. Just wondering if any of the experts here have any idea who may have built it. According to the owner who's had it for decades (but not the original owner) it was built in the late 70's to mid 80's. Appears to be built well and is 100% straight together...

Funny you should post this now... I put a tip on an i-2 shaft a couple weeks ago. It had a Kamui Medium so it had obviously been replaced before unless it came from McDermott that way which I doubt. I replaced it with a Kamui Super Soft. I didn't notice any "rings" and just barely took a skim...

Sounds like they are still all over the place, even in the same series. You're going to have to measure to be sure.
