I looked into this because I want to learn more about lathes, mills etc. I couldnt find a class at the local colleg. Who knows maybe Im not smart enough to find the courses...

I couldnt find a light I liked that was in my price range, so I decided to build one. I figured I could at least match my table.

Many cues and cue makers use a variety of burls all the time. Amboyna burl and Thuya burl are a couple you may have heard of. I am sure as with any type of wood, there are some that are usable and some that either dont work well or require additional knowledge.
