Standardised Rail Response Test - is there one yet ?

Ahh - what a difference a tried & tested method makes ! :-) (RKC's X to O bank round the table test) 8 rails hitting from X to O (running english) is the most I can get on my table. (cue ball finishes at "S" instead of "T') Its good that just slamming it hard with centre ball doesnt work...

Standardised Rail Response Test - is there one yet ?

EXCELLENT - This is exactly what I needed to know - I will try out that line of aim on my table asap. Cheers.

Test / Report ur table speed !

*8 rails up and down* or *8 rails banking around* ? Cheers.

Test / Report ur table speed !

If by regulation you mean 9 foot - then sure I'd love to see ur test results ? 18mph from centre of baulk perpendicular into the foot rail - how many table lengths ? What cloth you got ? Cheers.

Test / Report ur table speed !

How many table lengths do you get when hitting from centre of baulk line perpendicular into the foot rail @ 18 MPH ? yeah I know - the hard part is hitting at close to 18 MPH - (unless you have a radar gun to verify ! ;-D ) Thats why I hit my test at my max break speed - cause I break at only...

Test / Report ur table speed !

11 rails *banking around the table* you must mean ? Originally I thought u meant 11 table lengths straight up & down - heh. Video in any case would be good too see ? how bout it Jason ? Cheers.

Test / Report ur table speed !

If the table sucks due to poor cushion rubber - then I'd consider getting some new high quality cushion rubbers. If the table sucks due to rail design & material composition & mounting hardware - then I'd probably resign myself to living with it & focussing on the positives. I dont have any...

Standardised Rail Response Test - is there one yet ?

No its not ! LOL :-) I found these things a long time ago... What I am looking for is some kind of standard test for medium to high power shots. Thanx for ur input in any case - any help / info is good ! :-D Cheers.

Test / Report ur table speed !

Yeah stip meter - awesome for testing cloth speed & level (roll off) - and great for testing rail bounce (at very slow speeds), I guess rail bounce at slow speeds *should* be proportional to rail bounce at high speeds ? (maybe, maybe not ?) ie. how much does the rail mounting hardware and...

Standardised Rail Response Test - is there one yet ?

ummm - I dont quite follow - so starting at "X" - shoot towards ??? this will then drive the cueball to ??? etc. etc. (as per this pretty colour diagram with diamond refs.) Thanx Cheers.

    8 Ball Rules?

This is true - but knowing all the rules before you start is hard when theres different hillbilly rules in every pub. Finding out about a rule as u play tends to put one at a disadvantage. (or tends to start fights ! :-D ) start of game - conversation - player 1 says "BCA rules mate ?" -...

Test / Report ur table speed !

11 rails ? Are you serious ?? Crikey ! :-) 9 foot table ? table & cloth specs ? how fast are you hitting it to get 11 rails ? Cheers.

Test / Report ur table speed !

Did I mention that my test also waives my liability to any and all injuries or property damage resulting from said test ! :-D 18 MPH is a good speed for this test - I dont recommend hitting with ur break speed if ur a 20MPH+ breaker ! :-D

Test / Report ur table speed !

LOL - yep good point - I was just using my break speed cause it was a little easier to try & be consistent with my (wimpy) hitting speed. If you can make a reliable 18 MPH stroke - please post me ur results. :-) Cheers

Test / Report ur table speed !

For sure - great for slow speed tests into the rail - cloth speed would affect rail response tests big time at slow speeds though ?

Standardised Rail Response Test - is there one yet ?

Awesome video & love the results graph ! So 15mph to make 4 lengths on the table u got ur data from ? very interesting to know - bewdy ! :-) Cheers

Standardised Rail Response Test - is there one yet ?

For sure having rails that are *too lively* would be a problem also. I guess the up & down test at a known speed is maybe only good for comparison if ur worried about them playing too slow / being a bit dead ? This 9 rail test sound interesting - is this the ball path to achieve the 9th rail...

Test / Report ur table speed !

Hi All, Its still a bit of a rough test - any suggestions on improving the method would be great ! My Table Specs & Speed. ** 5 rails (just) @ approx 18 MPH ** 9 foot Chinese ? table 1 inch slate. Uylin Rubbers Simonis 860 cloth 3 bolts per rail Method: Using the break speed app - I...

Standardised Rail Response Test - is there one yet ?

Wow - 20MPH is FAST ! :-O I got the predator break app - I couldnt even clock a speed over 20 MPH ! (Is that laughter I hear ?? :-D) LOL My average for my fastest & hardest break shots was prolly around the 18 MPH mark. I then tried the up & down the table tests again at (hopefully) similar...
