    pro lessons

sorry, haven't been on here in a while! Hi, sorry I didn't see your question sooner. I do not know specifically if any pros do lessons at the show. I know many tend to hang out at their sponsors/friends booths and do some types of exhibition work. If you're a facebook user, I'd suggest going...

    Mike Panozzo - Billiards Digest

I'm obviously too biased to comment here neutrally, but I appreciate your support for my dad (and everyone else's support as well - and I know he appreciates it) I have always wondered why the Super Billiards Expo doesn't ever get on the cover of some of the major media magazines. I've been to...

    Orton's in Wilmington, NC

Yup, been to Orton's more times than I can count! I moved to Wilmington to attend UNCW after highschool, been here ever since just about - except for a recent and brief hiatus back to NJ. I used to love the place, but I haven't been there in a while... It used to be more of a bar than a...

    Super Billiard Expo 2013

We did tell the poo-bag vendor that we were sold out :)

    Super Billiard Expo 2013

Thanks :) I am merely trying to help address his concerns.

    Super Billiard Expo 2013

You are absolutely telling the truth, in fact, I'm glad you noticed! I'm not sure how you feel they don't belong, don't pool players live in houses? Has no pool player ever remodeled their home to make room for a new game room? Or dreamed of it at least? I know I'd love to have a gameroom added...

    Super Billiard Expo 2013

I promise, my mind is open to suggestions. That's why I read what people have to say and consider in for future years. In fact, earlier you mentioned that we should have some 4.5 x 9 tables available for practice, and that is something we are planning to bring for 2014, in a nice separate...

    Super Billiard Expo 2013

Awesome, thanks Lyn! I'll try to give you the inside-scoop as soon as I set-up player registration so you can be first :) I look forward to listing your name as back-to-back champion!

    Super Billiard Expo 2013

The truth is that vendors, players, fans, buyers, and spectators keep coming back every year. They do not come back because they are losing money or because they have a miserable time or to give you something to complain about; they come back because they enjoy the show, for whatever reason...

    "Fat" Harold Dollar.

Harold was a very nice guy, he used to hang out at a pool room in Wilmington, NC where I lived for 20 years or so... I'd always sit and chat with him for a while when I saw him. Always so happy and friendly towards me. Never got to see him play, but dad says he was quite the great player.

    Super Billiard Expo 2013

You are correct, on an aggregate level, the money in the prize pool is lower than the sum of all money spent for food, travel, lodging, expenses, etc as a group. Based on performance, some players come out ahead, some come out behind. Our primary and largest events are a series of Amateur events...

    Super Billiard Expo 2013

lol... pretty sure no one visited Woodstock, or the Expo, and caught AIDS. I do admire your tenacity though :)

    Super Billiard Expo 2013

Well no, not on an aggregate level - of course not. Individually, yes - some people win and come out ahead of the game, other people lose. It's the nature of any tournament with an entry fee. I don't believe any event can truly pay out more than it collects in entry fees and remain a viable...

    Super Billiard Expo 2013

Thanks Lyn! I'm glad the Expo isn't as muddy as Woodstock :) And I sure wish I could've experienced Woodstock as well. I remember when you picked up your check, I was there as well. And you're right, my dad does enjoy meeting all the players and paying out their prize money. He truly does...

    Super Billiard Expo 2013

How do you feel dissenting opinions are not acceptable to me? I have openly admitted that I know not everyone will be happy, and we listen to those opinions to work on things to improve. And who are the "we" that also feel I do not take criticism well? Are you speaking collectively for the...

    Super Billiard Expo 2013

Just curious: if people make their own determination that they enjoyed the show, why is that not acceptable to you? Is the only proper determination one that agrees with your opinion? We understand that not everyone will love every aspect of the show. I fully grasp that you did not. We do our...

    Super Billiard Expo 2013

Yes, this rule is always in effect. And yes, it is difficult for us to enforce. As you mentioned, buyers want to bring cases in for their purchases, and some dealers want to allow them to bring cues in to trade. Plus, people COULD sell cues out of a standard 2x2 case, it doesn't necessarily have...

    Super Billiard Expo 2013

Thanks Joe, don't worry, your words are heard. So are the words of all the countless people who had a really great time, enjoyed the show, and can't wait to come back again. Of course we can't make everyone happy, so we'll just continue doing our best and improving upon things that need...

    Congrats Allen Hopkins

Thank you very much, I will pass the message along to my dad. We're glad you all enjoy the show :) Should be a great one this year!

    Phillipinos at the EXPO

They're supposed to be here, that's why we listed them. We don't list a name unless we have it on very good authority that the player will be here. Marking "confirmed" and "committed" also helps us keep track of who still owes an entry fee upon arrival, as we have lots of info to keep track of...
