Well Jr. as you did not address everything I said, Conveniently you left out some issues. Besides that, In your words wanting the public to know the truth----How about having a booth at your Expo that didn't belong. Yes a booth that had nothing to do with pool what so ever. Am I not telling the truth about this ? A home improvement booth. As I passed by it a couple of times, no one was even in the booth. Does this have anything to do with why your so called floor plain was full ? You seemed to leave out that little detail. Again, something to back me up. You are trying to pull one over on the public. I guess you do want to go tit for tat with me. Well my weapons are loaded with facts to back them up. BANKS "The Pain Was Too Hard To Bear".
You are absolutely telling the truth, in fact, I'm glad you noticed! I'm not sure how you feel they don't belong, don't pool players live in houses? Has no pool player ever remodeled their home to make room for a new game room? Or dreamed of it at least? I know I'd love to have a gameroom added on
I am glad to know that businesses outside of the "pool world" are taking notice of the industry and seeing value in marketing to them. It will be a great day when more and more companies see the potential of promoting to pool players, perhaps one day Buick, or Ford, or Rolex will want to do the same, and the pool world will benefit.
The company you're mentioning is Power Home Remodeling Group, here is a
link to their website. I'm not sure how they found out about the expo, perhaps someone in the organization is a pool player as well. And perhaps when you walked by, their representative had stepped away to use the restroom, or eat, or shoot a quick rack. Who knows? They definitely had a crew of people in attendance to work their booth, it wasn't just set-up and left unmanned all day. No booths were; in fact, it's in our rules that they cannot be.
There was also a chiropractor (Active Care Wellness Center) on-site offering massages - a great idea for people who are on their feet all day, on carpeting, tile, or concrete. I was happy to spot the proprietor, Dr. Joe Mazzeo, entering the building with a cue and case strapped over his shoulder!
The pool and billiards industry can only benefit from reaching "outside" industries, and I'm proud that these "outside" groups found us and brought their companies to the people. They see the value in it, and that's a positive. In fact, Power Home Remodeling Group has already committed to return in 2014, which is a good sign.
An earlier poster commented that he is also a contractor. You'd think that in the event that work was needed, a pool player would prefer to support another pool player's business, if possible. Like a friend helping a friend. We all share this common bond and love for the game, it's great to find others who do as well.
We were not trying to "pull one over on the public" as you imply. Quite the contrary, I'm proud that these organizations were there. When they came in, they were added to the website and announced via facebook just like every other vendor. There were over 170 occupied booths, a few "non-pool" related companies does not dilute the experience.
And again, you seem defensive that I want to go "tit for tat" for you... I am merely addressing your concerns, is that not what you wanted? The game is apparently rigged, I don't think there's any way I can do good in your eyes. If I don't acknowledge your statements, you feel we're not listening. If I do address your statements, you feel as if I'm challenging you in some way.
