    Grip pressure can change the mechanics of the stroke. IMO a light grip is essential for straight in shots.

    I’ve done plenty of tips and the bevel on the outside of the ferrule is very easy to control. I can see no reason to turn it around to bevel in.

    I don’t know the pros and cons but IMO only the solid ivory joint is the real thing. The other sleeved joints are strictly decorative.
