    Chalking with the bridge hand

Main thing is, to keep the chalk handy. Good friend of mine, that's gone now,,he would have a cube or two of chalk in his car at all times. when he was out late with his girl friend and after taking her home,, he would then ,,just cover his hands in chalk. When he got home and his wife asked him...

    Cue ball on the Rail?

Lay the cue on the rail , as stated above. When your over the ball, I use a bit of pressure almost like holding the cue down , with your grip, or adding force to the cue making it lay on the rail . This helped me a great deal, when making the long shots while the cue ball is frozen

Help with changing a tip on a cue

Gorilla super glue, has a shock resistant formula ,that I like. When reading the product dat sheet, there's something about rubber fibers in the make up. I have been using it for years and have to take some time cutting the tips off, when ever I need to install a new one. I usually make sure the...

    Denny Searcy

I had watched and sparred with Billy Johnson for almost a year, and he beat everyone that came threw Greensboro in the time he was there. Jerry Brock got the 8 and almost never got to shoot. When Billy was playing those 2 sessions in Charlotte (I sweated both of them) there was a different story...

It was 1980 , late fall and the phone's ringing. Eddie O'Connell called me up early in the morning. Says we need to get together quick. I meet him at the old Collasiam billiards in Greensboro. He's talking that Billy (Wade Crane) and his backer are headed to Charlotte for action with Denny...

    Brunswick Centennial Pool Table

Back in the late 70's,while wandering around abit, I was playing in Columbia , there was a room that had 12 of these tables. Wonder if this one was one from there. This table has the 2 piece long rails, instead of the early 1 piece long rail. Not sure if they ever made them with fomica covers.

    Don Willis

Thanks for this post, really enjoyed the read. Mr Willis was one of the few I didn't get to meet back in the day, and from hearing about the stories he told, was one of the reasons to have had the luck of knowing him. I had heard once, someone accused him of lying, he said, that he came from a...

    45 ball challenge

The balls must be played in rotation order. The three 1 balls first, then the three 2 balls , and just keep going in that order. Shouldn't take long to accomplish, and forgot to mention, it play 5 to 1 on a complete run out.

Chris Melling's 4 rail bank shot

As an old timer in his 60's and still stuck in the 70's,,,that was the damn best out I ever saw in 8 Ball. Don't know if you will ,or not, take my word for it, but I have seen some great outs. My 2 cents issued

    Names from the past

Don't know about , if the bushwacker got action, but there was along time after the match started, that Allen Hopkins didn't like it against Giles. Hopkins ended up taking it off, but he really had to go to work to make it happen. This was back in the late 70's,,years later Charlie Brinson...
