Should you practice on larger tables?

Most of my practice is done on a 9 footer with shimmed pockets while most of my league play is done on a bar box. During practice I try to focus mostly on my shot making and a few other things. The thing I try to stay away from is really playing a game on the big table. I have found that in...

Balls popping out of the pocket

So the other night I was playing in our ten ball league and not once but twice I had a table run stunted by a ball dropping into the pocket and then hopping right back out onto the table. Nearly made me lose it the second time. Now these are not just drop pockets. These are valley tables. It was...

    My Pay-it-Forward thread

These are the cues that I play with. It is a custom set I had made to commemorate my military service. The rings represent the Iraq Campaign Medal. My name is Shannon Spronk and I play at Breakroom Billiards and Rapid City, SD. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Anyway out of the slump? Good advise from all experienced pool players appreciate it

When I hit a slump I find it is usually shortly after a stretch of really playing great. I find myself trying to overplay. That is to say that I start to think too much about playing a rack perfect and my pre shot routine goes to crap. I also find that my ball speed is way off when in a slump...

    Lou wants more

I am not saying that the amount by any means was Lou trying to make a move. I was more or less just trying to say that rather than Lou saying I accept the double Lou decided he wanted to be the power player by determining the amount and going another 50% over the top of JB. Just calling it the...

    Lou wants more

While typically I would agree with all of this there is one problem with your justifications. You are trying to rationalize the actions of a pure narcissist. I do not necessarily mean that in a bad way, but it is what it is. Furthermore I personally feel that if Lou had posted up saying I...

My lousy 8 ball break, crap!

I used to be terrible at breaking 8 ball. I would try to hit it as hard as possible. Half the time the cue ball did not even stay on the table. That was several years ago. Now I have a fairly good break. So what happened in the last few years? Well about a year ago I started practicing my...

    New Production Cue

This is the exact reason I went with a wrapless. I got sick of of having my hand half on and half off the wrap or not on the wrap at all.

    Break cue weight conversation

Well you are not quite looking at the problem correctly. Force = Mass x Acceleration. When thinking of the cue ball the mass will always be the same and the only difference will be how fast you can make the cue ball accelerate. When thinking of how you move that cue ball that is where cue...

Anyone familiar with an Ambasador Power cue?

Yeah we figured you would come around. Every time I see a post by the OP I have a sudden urge to click on it since I know I will likely get a good laugh. Either by what the OP says or simply by a reply that someone has given him. The OP is always good to lighten the mood around here.

Question for the hard tip fans

I recently had a Kamui Black Hard put on and I am in love with it. No problems at all.

    Phenolic joint vs Steel joint?

Personally I prefer a phenolic joint over a steel joint. It gives me a better feel and better feed back. This is of course subjective to the user so your best bet is to find some of these cues and play with them.

    Quick 10-ball rules question

Not sure how many people play this way but these are the only rules that I have played 10-ball by. Makes the game much better.

    Am I nuts?

Thanks for your reply. I was hoping that you would chime in here. Likely I will try out one of your tips at some point. With the way this tip is playing right now I am really liking it. I guess I just like them hard. (wait what did I just say?) The funny thing is that since I have put that...

    Am I nuts?

So recently I put a Kamui Black Hard on my playing cue. Some of the guys that I play with think that I am nuts for doing this. They asked if I like miscues. I have to say that I have no problems with it so far. I am able to do at least as much as I was doing with a medium tip. I mostly...

Anyone familiar with an Ambasador Power cue?

Actually they are pretty decent cues. Not sure how you got one so cheap. I had to trade my Ginaszambushka to get mine. On top of that I also had to throw in my It's Fellini case. I nearly had to throw in my Brunswick Monarch to pull off the deal.

Why Don't Players Practice The Lag?

My guess is that they do practice it to some degree. The problem is that every table and every rail will play it's own way. Most players also likely feel that their game is much more important to practice.
