the only way is the right way- bring a friend and take it a part. Boards across the table or take the slate and put on something else solid and sturdy, there's a ton of places for cleaning inside, you can inspect any weak or broken parts and springs,and best of all -you never know what kind of...

looks clean enough from pics. check frame for all pieces/parts, cracks etc. Slates for warps and breaks. check to see how well rails set on slate around table.big shadows and gaps under edges of rails- or crisp and clean. the only things I really look at first- everything else is quick and easy.
