    Wish I was a pro

Not me I don't want the pro pool players life. I like coming home to my castle and have fun here. But, I would like to be able to shoot as good as any one of the top 50 pro players. I would have lots of fun then and I could win most of these small Alaska tournaments!

    Jayson Shaw WPM bakery

Great shooter Based on the last 12 months he appears to be a great rotation player. I don't know how he will be in the next 5 years. He has won many hill hill matches. Eventually that will stop if his opponents can quit making mistakes.

    I lost

I went to the pool hall for the small 8 Ball tournament on Sunday afternoon. I almost didn't as I won the last 4 times I played. It is a race to 3 double elimination. One of the younger guys I had beat before has lots of potential, He ran one rack after I scratched on break and beat me...

    Breaking cue down?

Thanks guys! Every thing all of you said makes sense. I spoke to the owners at the pool hall who are kind of new to the whole pool scene, they are a good young couple and their heart is in the right place. We have several bar bangers and each bar has it's own rules, so being the old guy I...

    Breaking cue down?

What do you guys do in a bar or pool hall tournament when your opponent breaks his player down before you shoot the winning ball in? Also, what do you do if one guy wants to flip for the break and the other player wants to lag?

    New room

Not for me I think the best way to decide if a room is big enough is to allow a minimum of 5.5 feet on all 4 sides. No matter how big the table is, allow that much room on all 4 sides.. A rail shot with a 58" cue will eat up 5 feet of space in a hurry when stroking the shot. If you have a...

    Another bad experience from Meucci

Ouch! That is so bad. Plenty of used Meucci cues show up for sale now and then. I remember the goat rope I went through getting my simple "sneaky" years ago. They finally found it in a corner some where. My one and only order from them!

    Serious question

Meucci shaft I am probably the only one that feels this way, but of the 3 alleged low deflection shafts I have tried, the Meucci Black Dot is my favorite. But, I probably did not give the OB Classic and Predator 314-2 enough playing time. I don't always buy American, but I try to.

Choking - Why we do this

Motor skill loss Under extreme stress us humans loose fine motor skills, but can usually still perform gross motor skills. I was taught this long ago in some hand gun training. We were taught that it was easier to rack a slide when moving and being shot at then it was to use your thumb to...

What shot would you most like to make under intense pressure?

The Z shot! That Z shot Efren put on Strickland years ago works for me.

    My home-made ball polisher.

Made one! Thanks for this post! It inspired me and my grandson and me made one. Went to Home Depot and bought 2 new orange buckets, a 10" Ryobi buffer and some carpet scraps. Went to Walmart and bought some 2" wide industrial strength Velcro with the sticky back and used Velcro on all the...

A moral dilemma, friend received what is likely a stolen cue

Pass on it Dirt bags steal from others so they can sell it to some one and if some one suspects something may be stolen then they should pass on it. If some one knowingly buys stolen merchandise then they are an enabling dirt bag no better then the thief that stole it. There is no way to...

    New BCA rule book?

Is there a 2017 BCA rule book available any where? I am hearing the number of balls hitting a rail on the break changed as well as what is done with the cue ball when one scratches on the break.

    Hick town tournament!

Our local pool hall opened back up a few months ago and has a 10 buck entry fee 8 Ball Tournament on Sunday afternoon. My 12 year old grandson has taken a big interest in pool and practices on my 9' Rebco. After 11 straight losses he finally won a game and said he gets nervous when playing in...
