    Ball Polishing!!!

just call me cheap I guess I use Pledge Furniture Polish. Put all the balls, inc. cue ball, on a fluffy bath towel. Spray them all with Pledge, fold over towel and rub polish onto the balls. Remove individually and clean/dry each ball with the corner of towel. Then I wait for 10-15 minutes...

Update on the Des Moines pool scene

Advertise yes!!! Good point Spimp. Advertise and you might get more people. Mikey (or some other computer wiz)...make up a reproducible poster and post it here or the tournament board and I'll get some spread around CR. I'm sure that would spark some interest around here. You're only 1 1/2...

My First Big Cue Purchase...Barry Szamboti

So Mark, is that going to be your everyday shooter or are you just going to bring it out on special occassions? That's a real looker. I think I have seen it before...maybe shot against it once in a tournament (playing Little Pepe). May have been a different Szamboti though. I can't remember...

State of the Art in Case Making

I am the proud owner of the 'Graying' butterfly case (pictured in the OP...the snakeskin case) and I must say it is everything that I wanted in a soft case. I have 3 butts and 5 shafts that fit snuggly into the padded interior of this case and plenty of room in the pockets. I get compliments...

    Swamp People

I wonder if they'll have like an overview show next week . Something like the Captains of the boats did on The Deadliest Catch. Getting all those cajuns together in one spot to discuss tactics might be interesting. Those guys could have a little friendly competition next year. I...

Update on the Des Moines pool scene

What happened? Couldn't make it down at all for the tourney but I am interested in the results. Who won what? Who actually showed up...out of towners? How did you DM players fare? Com'on, inquiring minds want to know.... Thanks in advance...Ken

Pre-Flag Masters Chalk- Let's talk green

There were two different greens pre flag...Mint Green and a darker shade that I can't think of the name. I bought a gross box of the darker green long ago and still use it. It works as good as the preflag blue. I don't think it stains the cue shaft nearly as much as the blue...it's still...

Update on the Des Moines pool scene

Check out the ISPA web site. There are some answers there and hopfully the new president, Louie Bartels, will be willing to talk to the palyers. I'm just a player now...I've developed a bad taste for politics. Seems you can't really trust anyone. Having fun playing pool though. At least I...

    Retail Linen Wrap Distributors

Actually, GEBrown, that is what I was thinking. I was hoping greyghost had the answer to the glue question. I really couldn't even guess what kind of glue to use. I guess, if you got it really tightly wrapped (no gaps), then pressed the heck out of it, it might just stay put without glue...

Update on the Des Moines pool scene

As you may have heard, I am no longer the president of the ISPA, but I still know some of the rules...until somebody decides to change them and then who knows when they'll be published :(. Anyway, still 5 person teams and the no 3 original player requirement for Master teams still holds...

    Retail Linen Wrap Distributors

Thanks Ghost, that looks like an interesting site. I'll do a little more research on the subject. Have you ever used the waxed linen before? I was wondering what kind of glue might work best. And then what size (4-ply, 6-ply, etc) would be appropriate for wrapping cues. They do offer some...

    Retail Linen Wrap Distributors

I was recently requested to put a tan colored linen wrap on a cue. I looked at Atlas, Prather and Huebler but none offered just tan. I know I've seen it on a couple of cues (might have been speacial ordered linen though), but can't find plain tan linen wrap anywhere. I used a white (actually...

*** Name that Pool Hall contest ***

I always thought THAT SLEEZY OLD POOL HALL would be a good name...with a rat (like RAT FINK from days gone by) holding a pool cue, leaning up against a wall as a logo. Of course, seeing you're from Oklahoma, you could use a Coyote in stead (not quite as sleezy though). You'd get plenty of...
