Looks like a Gold Crown...what is it really?

I had no idea! Thanks.....we learn something new everyday don't we? Here's an excerp from "ask the pro's" that also explains it: Brunswick tried to market a synthetic bed on their tables two times I know of, calling it Brunstone and Bluestone. Common on early Gold Crown commercial tables of...

Looks like a Gold Crown...what is it really?

I agree Glen! (unless it has been altered) I never knew a Brunswick Gold Crown in any series I, II, III or IV was produced with anything BUT slate. Please do explain! Robin

Looks like a Gold Crown...what is it really?

The slate should be worth the $500! New cushions + Simonis cloth = great table!

    question for fellow techs

I'm with scruffy on this one. I let my customer know they were originally installed in sets and if one is bad, the rest without a doubt follow.....SOONER than later and will only cost more with a return trip. I've yet to have a customer have me replace only one. Robin

    Question for table mechanics

Check out item "L" on this page. http://www.dbentertainmentco.com/Billiard_Accessory_Page_24.htm They are for Valley & Dynamo coin-op tables which have metal corner caps and hold the pocket liners in place. They might work for your purposes if I correctly understand your issue. Robin

    What model Olhausen is this?

That would be my guess also. They come in quite a variety of finishes as well according to their website. There are a couple of Olhausen dealers that post here so I'm sure they can confirm it.

    Cloth Prices Going Up

I heard the Australian's are knocking off their sheep so don't blame the sheep! The cattle bring in more cash so they don't want the sheep eating the grass. Silly cows.....blame them!

    Balls pop out of pocket.....

Before cutting your blind aprons, make sure you didn't put an end blind on the side by mistake. Typically, the ends are a couple inches longer than the sides and beats me why any manufacturer would make a side that far off.

    Another ID this table.

ATI - made in Florida, went out of business in the early 90's after about 25 years in business. Made some decent home tables for the era but didn't combine hardware and made everything unique to each model and it killed them. Don't recognize that one as one of their tables but it could be...

Good News For Mechanics, Calling Cobra

Glen - I installed one of those about a month ago and although didn't have near the problems you did, there were still a few that just added to install time. The feather strips on them were shit and I had to sand them down because they were so rough. They would barely come out of the dado cut...

    re use cloth?

The Olhausens I recovered recently were 4 & 9 years old. One was an entry level furniture style and the other was mid-range solid hardwood. It's been "at least" 15 years since they came out with the Accu-Fast as in sales we promoted AMFast on our AMF tables against them back in the very early...

    re use cloth?

An Olhausen should be a quick table. However, I've recently run into several Ohlhausen's in my area that did NOT have Accu-Fast cushions installed. One actually had Imperial cushions which appreared had never been recovered so was evidently sold that way new. If you are going to remove the...

    Jeff Olney

I am the proud owner of two of Jeff's first cues from about 1992. I just came off of 11 years away from the game but, after basically storing them in a Porper case for that long, they are both dead nut straight and play as good as they ever did......fabulous! Tips evolved sometime during my...

    Value/Make?

You could pick that up in about 15 minutes by taking the legs off and two people (or Glen...LOL) carry it out. It's a non-slate table and not much value left in them once used. Consider it a primo-disposable table! Robin

Side to Side ball movement at slow speeds?

Glen - you must be up in Northern MN. I left that tundra for the warmer winters offered in NC. It's 27 here right now but, at least the sun shines in this state during the winter months. (looks like your pic has sun spots to eh?!?! LOL)

    Table Make/Model?

There was a thread several months ago on this same topic. It was determined that the table was made by National Billiards in the Cincinnatti, OH or Covington, KY area back in the 70's & 80's. I do not recall who posted it but he said he set up many many of them and it was definitely a National...

    New Cloth in Raleigh

Alan - could you PM me with specifics? I do not want to publicly bash them but, I certainly don't want to make bad referrals either. (If I were closer to Raleigh, I'd shoot up there) I had heard from a few people they were well taken care of. Thanks! Robin
