    A question for all tech's.

I've lived/worked in various pockets around the country and this seemed more common (in my experience) while living up North. Especially in N.E. Ohio where there were tons of those passed off as pool tables. A big problem we ran into were the Willie Mosconi & Minnesota Fats tables probably...

    Which Table?

I've installed several brands of the imports and without question, the best of the rest is the Spencer Marston distributed by BilliardEx. They are built overseas yes, but under supervision of American Engineers. So are Brunswick tables. The wood going into the S.M. tables IS a very hardwood...

    Gc 3

Glen - I knew that......just went back and re-read what I wrote because I wondered why the hell you were pointing it out to me. I musta been thinking something else when typing that....fricking typewriters anyway! LOL Robin

    Gc 3

I picked up this table recently and installed new SuperSpeed cushions yesterday (which are very slightly larger than the K55 profiles). All were flexible and supposedly new but, after I got the table together, one end rail is dead on 2/3 of it. The tip of the cushion is hard and the rest is OK...

Hanging out in Vegas this weekend!

Glen - you could always contact that vegabond fella that got your goat awhile back. Did you ever service his table and get it leveler than level?? I think he said he wanted it beyond level.....like Nick Varner's Dad's table right?!?!? Now THAT'S level! LOL Robin

    Diamond Table Rail Replacement

On the serious side, I'd take the Diamond and replace the cushions (if necessary). You could have that done for less than the GC IV with scratches. Is the seller sure the cushions need replaced or are they just loose and need reglued? That would be the best case scenerio. One mans opinion!

Different ways of installing bed cloths.

Glen - The only thing I change is the pocket cuts depending upon the slate thickness. If I can see the cuts, I will add a strip using thin cardboard for a straight edge, tacking the cloth and folding it over and under for a cleaner look. I don't change my method of stretching the cloth though...

Different ways of installing bed cloths.

Howdy Glen, I install all of the worsted family of cloths differently than I do for example Titan which I use for the typical home recover. I have my own method for worsted cloth but it's very similar to the chart Simonis suggests. Doubt he will remember me but, please tell Kim hello when...

What can you do about damaged subrails?

In a pool room I managed back in the early 80's, we had 10 Global antique style tables that were notorious for the same problem. In our case, it was from players getting ticked off and smacking the pocket (always the corner pockets) which of course after a few blows would break it down. Such...

What are your thoughts on Carolina cues?

Kudos to Carolina Cue's! I'm across the lake from Carolina Cues and needed some repair on one of my Olneys. I shot an email to them and Trevor replied, welcomed me with a very personal touch and asked for me to bring my cue anytime they are open. I don't trust too many people with my cues and...

    Pocket Adapters

Tony - I know what you're talking about but haven't seen anyone supply those in quite a few years. You may start calling some of the antique table dealers around the country or some WELL established retailers to see if by chance they have a set in their display cases they can dust off for you...

    Q re: 10 Foot Brunswick 20th Century

td - it has been 25 years since I recovered a snooker table but they "generally" take the step cushions and a set of 12 "snooker bends". Although, if that table is converted from a pool table, it make take a standard cushion. Rick (Dartman) has posted a few graphics with cushion dimensions if...

    Opinions of the Connelly Ultimate?

I agree with Donny on the overkill. But, no denying they are stout and may last like some of the old antiques. My opinion is they were made to remain in place and not move! Unless of course you get Glen to move it for you....LOL Not me!

    Left vs. Right rail

What Glen and others have said here is in traditional reference to table assembly, thus the forum name. I would always contend, however, a six rail table has: > one head rail (nameplate) > one foot rail > one left head rail > one left foot rail > one right head rail > one right foot. To me...
