Finally got the lathe wired up correctly. The 1st issue was the 220 wiring diagram and the block diagram didnt match. The second problem was a bad contactor in the control panel, only one side was working properly. The tech guy at Enco told the industrial maintenance electrician not to pay...

spindle bore is 3/4" how do you do a butt joint with that? What do you mean a real lathe? Some one learning on a toy lathe?

collets Every set of collets that i have purchased leaves a mark on the shaft and butt. The clear vinyl tubing seems to work the best for me..It grips the shaft real tight and doesn't leave a mark. I use different sizes for different areas of the butt also. Good Luck
