Started playing in '87 & bought a new Adams so I wouldn't have to play with house cues. In '89 bought a '69-'72 era Joss & the Adams became my break cue. The Joss has stiff hit but has been my daily player for years. Found an unidentified Rambow-ish cue in '89 that is probably from the 40's or...

BCAPL 8 ball night - one of our opponents sees Joe (local A player) from our team walk in, turns to his players and says "I smell stroke" :grin:

I like Spidey's ball idea for the Wave - how about the game balls in small triangle X X X X then the wave would be a little larger in order to leave room for Los Angeles :) (sorry - was originally thinking of the New York Teams thing on "Sharks" :()

I always liked the KISS theory. If you are just playing with friends for fun then worrying about what the score is takes the fun out of it. How about just simply playing a ring game - no safeties allowed. Seeing as you are a better player than your friends then you could just take only 1 shot...

ring games are fun For several months I ran a "ring game tournament" for the B & C players in town. 24 max players, 6 to a table, we used poker chips to "ante" for each rack, each player started with the same amount of chips, every 1/2 hour the bet doubled, final 4 (winner from each table)...

IMO the top pros have such overall knowledge, experience, mental control, object ball control, cue ball control and consistency that they can play or learn any game they want to in a very short time. Rotation games are just a quicker payoff. At the amateur level I think any non-rotation game...

I believe, if you are willing to travel, they will let you go to another venue that is not full - maybe. Call them and see. I played in one "way out of town" once because I was going to be in that city for vacation at the time anyway. I did initially "sign up" for that city though. if not...
