TAR 29: Orcollo vs Van Boening August 17-19

Gonna be a good one.

I'd love to see the one pckt taken out bank pool tho. Iunno bout other people but I found the 1pckt with Corey and John extremely boring and too long. Didn't Corey even admit to not enjoying the 1pckt match.

I shortened the one pocket race from 8 to 7 and we are working on a shot clock solution. If its not ready for this match I'll just yell "SHOOT!" from behind the curtain whenever they start getting silly with time between shots.

<----only slightly kidding

Thanks Justin, glad you are rectifying the problem. We appreciate all the hard work. Do you think you guys will ever have bank pool in any of your formats? I for one would love to see it, not sure how others feel on the Subject. Maybe I'll make a poll?

Perhpas the formata could change slightly if both players are known for a specific decipline. For example, if Brumback and Daulton played, perhaps it could be banks, 10 ball, and 1 pocket.

If Schmidt and Thorsten played, it could be 14.1, 10 ball, and 8 ball.

etc...

I enjoyed the Corey/John one pocket match. It was obviously long, but I didn't think either of them took an extrordinariliy long time to shoot shots. I felt that the games lasted a long time because they were defending well.

Having said that, I think a race to 5 or 6 would show who's playing better on a given day.

We are looking for presenting and stream sponsors for this event. If you are interested in partnering with TAR on this production please contact Justin Collet at justin(at)theactionreport.com

For studio seating contact Justin Collett at justin(at)theactionreport.com

TAR has launched a new Facebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/tarinfo . Previously I had used my personal page for putting out TAR info but from here on out everything will be going out on the new TAR page. If you are on Facebook please stop by and hit the like button to be kept up to date on the latest TAR news.

Now this match actually gets me excited. This will be the best TAR yet. Ill take Orcollo

Dennis will be ready for this! He likes playing Shane and beating him! He's looking forward to this and getting in the box with Shane. It should be a damn good match!

I think it is a toss up for who will win the 8 ball, Shane should be favored in one pocket, and Orcullo the favorite in 10 ball. Should be very interesting

I will certainly purchase the stream! I'm too lazy to look it up, what is Shane's record in Tar matches?

I bought the Schmidt vs Corey 8 ball match and was very pleased with the product so I'll be buying this one as well. If you're on the fence or haven't bought a TAR ppv before I recommend it.

So I take it his one pocket game has been developing nicely since he first took it up like, oh, 2 months ago?

Friday August 17: 8 Ball Race to 15

I am in because 8-ball rocks on the TAR table but I hope soon you bump the race to 19 in the 8-ball in this multi-format as it was a pretty quick match between Schmidt and Deuel.

Regardless, praise be to 8-ball.

Just start glowering at them when they take too long and then stand up threateningly when they really push it. They will shoot PDQ, I know I would.

8-ball is a much underapreciated discipline!!

The response to the 8 Ball has been overwhelmingly positive so I am all for keeping it in the format. Personally I like it as well.

8-Ball is a fantastic addition IMO. Please keep it!! Also, I think I got the problem figured out that I was having with the feed last time. It took me 2 hours on the phone with Time Warner's finest(and by finest I mean absolute blithering idiot worst) but its done.

Thanks again for your efforts on the last one.

Also Justin, if you do make DVDs of the Schmidt/Duel matchup, I'd like very much to buy the whole set.

KBfromSC....we've emailed a bit before

I like 8-ball too. But the Schmidt/Deuel match was pretty quick? It was 4 hours. I missed a chunk (in the middle) of it because I couldn't stay with it that long and I'm not like ADD or anything, it's just hard to "watch TV" for four hours with no pause button and so few short breaks. I would rather see a race to 12. Maybe TAR could schedule breaks like 5 or 10 minutes long after the 5th, 10th, 15th racks and so on. As a player I have no problem playing hours on end with few breaks. But for some reason, as a viewer I find it difficult. edit: Not to mention finding a 4 hour chunk of time when you have no control over the start time.

I'm on the fence about buying the 8-ball stream. But I know I won't get the other matches. It's nice to be able to buy the matches separately. I appreciate that.

edit: If these were available as downloads/DVD's, I would buy 8-ball for sure and probably 10-ball too. This would be contingent on the funds, but the point is I'm more likely to spend money on video than streams. I know Justin is working on that, but I wanted to add incentive to make it happen. I am assuming that if I feel this way, others do as well.

I totally agree with all of this above! I know these matches aren't ALL about the spectators but this would make for a much more pleasant viewing experience. Having said that, I'm for any race to 15 or more(8-ball). No less please.

I am assuming that if I feel this way, others do as well.I am of the same opinion here as well, I work very odd hours and have very little chance of catching any action at all on a Friday or Saturday. Plus I love using the pause FF and REW buttons that DVD and archived matches offer.
