    biggest package against the ghost

Alex ran 14 racks of 10 ball WITH RESPOTS for balls made on the break on a tight 9ft Diamond at JOB's in Nashville one time when he was ALL IN to the tune of something like 5-6k,with the ghost on the hill in an 8-ahead. Get you some of that ;). Tommy D.

    Black Linen Wrap Problem......

I've seen black w/white spot wraps bleed a little color during install, but never seen it bleed dye onto someone's skin from them sweating. We have no reason not to believe the OP,so let's say he's on the money and this is indeed happening. Drop some knowledge on us Mike, what changes in linen...

    Westinghouse micarta..?

I've always wanted some of this myself, along with the stuff in post #5 above. In another direction, the stuff known as Mason Micarta is AWFUL good . Tommy D.

    Predator pre-cat 314

I haven't gotten any Isoplast yet,but the Tomahawk stuff that can be had here is probably a tougher, and overall just flat-out better, esp if you are talking about the short,thin-walled ferrules. I have seen OLD Predator's that had practically 1 inch ferrules. In the case of those,I am confident...

    Blue Marks Under Ferrule?

A fresh piece of 400,denatured alcohol and a Magic Eraser will probably help. Acetone could be a disaster, unless used in very small amounts. If used incorrectly,it will even soften the melamine ferrule pictured here. Tommy D.

    Round Shank tool Holder

In a lot of cases, boring bar holders like that are home-shop made. Tommy D.

    Schon SL-24 or FAKE?

Unfortunately, there is no chance in hell that is a real SL-24. Tommy D.

    What lathe to look for

While I haven't had anyone give me a clearly defined answer as to why, talking to cuemakers here and in person,I've heard Clausing mentioned a LOT,in particular the 49/59/6900 models since you expressed interest in old American iron. As far as buying a new lathe, you'd be hard pressed to do...

Money lost but unethical Cuemaker found

I've been around here a long time, and have seen multiple threads about bad deals with cuemakers. Without having met any of them,it sure seems to me like there may be things going on in the background that may not be avoidable. I'm only using this one as an example, but judging by the work Eddie...

    Diagnosing unknown A joint issues...

I have questions about 2 diff cues that have unknown issues that cause noise I have loosely attributed to an A joint issue, but have no solid plan of action. The first cue is an American made McDermott. This cue was making an odd noise,so I checked the 4oz weight bolt, and even took it out,but it...

New cue tips - holes on the bottom

CA is short for Cyanoacrylate adhesive or "super" glue. Just wipe a little on the sanded side of the tip, then wipe it dry. Re-sand it a little to make sure it's flat and clean and it's ready to go on the ferrule with a little more glue. Tommy D.

New cue tips - holes on the bottom

I've installed G2's and this is NOTHING to worry about. Once you seal the back with CA and lightly re-sand it,you'll be just fine . Tommy D.

Recent Purchase - Le Pro Tips

When I first started doing repairs for others over 10 years ago,I bought a box of Le Pro,Triangle, and Elk Masters. I've only bought one box of Elks since my initial investment. Since then,I'm on my 3rd box of Triangles, and 5th box of Le Pro. For a LONG time,I didn't have the problems that...

What's going on with cdx shafts

I have no idea what went on with the business side, but this is my exp with those shafts as a product. I've never seen a decent Meucci,Perry,Players or whatever come apart in the way my buddie's did. He got this shaft in a trade so it was the spare shaft for a quick-release McD with the 3/8-16...

    Quick change tool post.

It might take a while to find one,but the A2Z CNC one that used to sell on eBay from Tim Goldstein was an excellent product,as long as you didn't want to knurl with it,they never made a knurling holder for it. There is a steel-based one available from Little Machine Shop that is also quite...

    Cleaning Irish Linen

On Cortland it might be a different deal, but normal linen can be cleaned pretty effectively with a light household cleaner,Woolite,or alcohol and a Magic Eraser. It will also need to be starched and repressed/polished after that but it CAN be done with little risk in skilled hands. Tommy D.

Looking for a porper b foot pedal

I don't know if it HAS to be that particular type controller, but a sewing machine shop should have something that will work. Before I got my Hightower lathe which came with a Dayton motor and it's own controller,I needed a wrap motor and foot control to adapt my wood lathe for doing wraps. We...

    Porper website is down

I've been around here since 2004,and don't remember EVER seeing pics of a router setup on a Porper lathe. Several have shown their setup on full-sized lathes or a Taig/Hightower rig,but never on a Porper. I saw a website a couple days ago that said in their cue case section that Porper cases...

    5/16X14 shaft thread

It's not a different pitch, the Schon version is slightly undersized (normally .010) at the top AND bottom of the thread form. The Joss version is usually much closer to a true 5/16 (.3125). Tommy D.
